FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I like the bone-in pork chops for this recipe. I find that it really gives this dish a lot of flavor but if you prefer boneless you can certainly do that. But I definitely do not recommend a thin cut pork chop. Just be careful when taking them out when they are finished cooking. The meat will be very tender so I like to scoop them out with a spatula.
My absolute favorite side dish with this is mashed potatoes. Rice or egg noodles are also good. I also like to serve it with some steamed vegetables. (like broccoli or carrots) and maybe some Butter Swim Biscuits!
I don’t recommend cooking on high. The meat will not come out as tender. Cooking it low and slow will ensure fall-apart tender pork chops.
You can pretty much us any cream soup your family enjoys. Cream of mushroom, cream of chicken, cream of onion, cream of mushroom and chicken will all work here.
You could definitely season with pepper but I don’t recommend salt as there is enough salt in the other ingredients.
Where applicable, you could certainly substitute with those options. I prefer low sodium options here because we’re also using packets of pork gravy and onion soup mix which also have sodium in them.
It’s totally optional but I really think the gravy works better when thickened.
I find this recipe works better in an oval slow cooker instead of a round one. The chops cook more evenly.
Store leftovers in an airtight container and put into the refrigerator. Eat within two days. I don’t recommend freezing leftovers.

HOW TO MAKE TO MAKE CROCK POT PORK CHOPS
In a 5-6 quart slow cooker, combine onion soup mix, chicken broth, cream of chicken soup and pork gravy mix. Whisk together until combined. Don’t worry about any lumps, they will go away during cooking. Season both sides of the chops with a little bit of garlic powder.
Place pork chops into the slow cooker. Do your best to spread them out and cover with the gravy mixture. Cover and cook on low about 4-6 hours
Just before the pork chops are done. Whisk together the corn starch and cold water in a small bowl.
Once it is smooth, pour it in with your pork chops in the slow cooker and stir gently. Cover and switch the slow cooker to high and cook for another 30 minutes (until gravy has thickened.) Then serve with mashed potatoes!

Notes
- This is one of those fix-it and forget it type crock pot recipes. It helps to have a digital crock pot these days. You can cook it for a certain amount of time so and then it will automatically go to a keep-warm setting.
- I like the bone-in pork chops for this recipe. I find that it really gives this dish a lot of flavor but if you prefer boneless you can certainly do that. But I definitely do not recommend a thin cut pork chop. Just be careful when taking them out when they are finished cooking. The meat will be very tender so I like to scoop them out with a spatula.
- Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, a salad, steamed broccoli or mixed vegetables.

Hooray, I am glad it was a hit with your crew! This one is definitely a keeper.
Thanks for this recipe! Was looking for something like this. I followed the recipe exactly and the pork chops were awesome. I was going to thicken the gravy, but my family didn't want to wait any longer after smelling them cook. Definitely a keeper!!
My family LOVES this recipe! I have made it many times! I forgot to thaw my pork chops this time, though! Can I make them from frozen? I have done it before, just not this recipe and I'm sure if I would need to change anything.
Hey there cyoung, hope next time it is a little less salty for you.
Made this last night and it was awesome. My whole family loved it. However, I did not heed your advice to use low sodium chicken broth and chicken soup and it was a bit on the salty side. Next time, and there will definitely be a next time, I will follow the recipe as it's written!! So good!
Just wanted to let you know that I made this recipe tonight, and it was amazing. My hubby and I loved it. That gravy! So delicious! Thanks for posting it!
Ive got mine in the crock pot as we speak. This looks delicious so hopefully it tasts just as good!
That is awesome TJ! So glad you enjoyed it.
Thanks Tina, this one is a favorite in our house. I am so glad you have enjoyed it. I like simple and easy and this one fits that bill.
I never comment on recipes but this time I just had to! First of all I like how simple it was and when I read the reviews everyone made the recipe as written with no changes. I was looking for something different to do with my chops and I love to use my crockpot when time permits, so let me just say this was perfect for me. The chops were tender and the gravy, ooh that was good gravy and so easy to make! I will definitely keep this recipe close and I look forward to trying more of your recipes, thanks for sharing!
Oh my! Made this for dinner tonight! It is definitely a keeper. I used thick-cut boneless chops and cooked it on high for the 1st hour then on low for 3 hours. The chops were sooo tender, it flaked like fish. Didn't need a knife. I didn't have pork gravy mix so I used chicken instead. Thank you for sharing this recipes. I shared it with my friends on Facebook, too.
This is a great recipe – I made it twice already and it came out great! I doubled the recipe because it works great for leftovers. I used rather thick bone-in chops. The flavor is rich and complex. A 5 star recipe! Cyndi
I can't seem to remember where I found your blog but I am so glad I did! I made this for dinner tonight and it was DELICIOUS! I didn't use the crock pot since it was too late and also used both Lipton beefy onion and cream of mushroom soup since that was what I had on hand. I cooked it on low for about a half hour after frying the chops slightly so give them some color and paired it with mashed potatoes. I've already saved this recipe since my boyfriend has declared "we have to have that again!" Thank you so much for getting me out of my cooking rut!
So glad it tickled your fancy to come by and check it out. Hope your family loves it!
This looks amazing! Seen on Pinterest and had to stop in and check it out I can't wait to try it!
SO GOOD! I don't usually like pork chops in the crock pot – too bland, and runny gravy. The steps to thicken the gravy are TOTALLY worth the extra couple minutes – and SO easy! My husband and I loved everything about this recipe. Will make it again and again – thank you!!
P.S. I didn't have a packet of pork gravy mix, so I used a packet of chicken gravy mix instead
I made this once b4 and my husband and I both enjoyed it which is rare that we both like the same thing due to his lack of liking certain ingredients or mine. I am making this again tonight as it will be a go to in the future when I need something reliable. Def keeper for sure
I used no sodium chicken stock and it turned out fine.
Can I use frozen pork chops?
Awesome. Made this for supper tonite. Will definitely make again
I came across your blog yesterday and almost immediately prepared a shopping list. Everything here is amazing!
I made these chops tonight and they were just perfect! All three of my picky little ladies finished every bite! I couldn't believe it! Thank you SO much! I'll be making more from your blog in the coming weeks!
I'm going to make this recipe but I need to make it Gluten Free so I am going to use homemade cream of chicken & mushroom soup plus the onion soup mix is not gf so I will gave to sub that out also.. Stay tuned for the results
Did you managed to find substitutes to make this recipe GF?
Made this tonight … could not believe how easy and fast it was to get ready! I used regular chicken broth, low sodium cream of chicken soup, and only 1/2 the onion soup mix. Cooked 7 hours on low. Removed most liquid to a saucepan and thickened with some arrowroot flour and water. Served with mashed potatoes and carrots – will definitely make this again!
This recipe was really terrific. I used mushroom soup and beef broth because that's what I had on hand, and it was delish! I'm going to use this recipe the next time I make a pulled pork shoulder – I'm not a fan of the sweet BBQ pulled pork – I bet this would be a perfect substitute. Thanks for sharing!
Wow this is a wonderful recipe! I hardly ever post comments but this was amazing!!! It will definitely become a regular at our house!!!
