FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I like the bone-in pork chops for this recipe. I find that it really gives this dish a lot of flavor but if you prefer boneless you can certainly do that. But I definitely do not recommend a thin cut pork chop. Just be careful when taking them out when they are finished cooking. The meat will be very tender so I like to scoop them out with a spatula.
My absolute favorite side dish with this is mashed potatoes. Rice or egg noodles are also good. I also like to serve it with some steamed vegetables. (like broccoli or carrots) and maybe some Butter Swim Biscuits!
I don’t recommend cooking on high. The meat will not come out as tender. Cooking it low and slow will ensure fall-apart tender pork chops.
You can pretty much us any cream soup your family enjoys. Cream of mushroom, cream of chicken, cream of onion, cream of mushroom and chicken will all work here.
You could definitely season with pepper but I don’t recommend salt as there is enough salt in the other ingredients.
Where applicable, you could certainly substitute with those options. I prefer low sodium options here because we’re also using packets of pork gravy and onion soup mix which also have sodium in them.
It’s totally optional but I really think the gravy works better when thickened.
I find this recipe works better in an oval slow cooker instead of a round one. The chops cook more evenly.
Store leftovers in an airtight container and put into the refrigerator. Eat within two days. I don’t recommend freezing leftovers.

HOW TO MAKE TO MAKE CROCK POT PORK CHOPS
In a 5-6 quart slow cooker, combine onion soup mix, chicken broth, cream of chicken soup and pork gravy mix. Whisk together until combined. Don’t worry about any lumps, they will go away during cooking. Season both sides of the chops with a little bit of garlic powder.
Place pork chops into the slow cooker. Do your best to spread them out and cover with the gravy mixture. Cover and cook on low about 4-6 hours
Just before the pork chops are done. Whisk together the corn starch and cold water in a small bowl.
Once it is smooth, pour it in with your pork chops in the slow cooker and stir gently. Cover and switch the slow cooker to high and cook for another 30 minutes (until gravy has thickened.) Then serve with mashed potatoes!

Notes
- This is one of those fix-it and forget it type crock pot recipes. It helps to have a digital crock pot these days. You can cook it for a certain amount of time so and then it will automatically go to a keep-warm setting.

But I definitely do not recommend a thin cut pork chop. Just be careful when taking them out when they are finished cooking. The meat will be very tender so I like to scoop them out with a spatula.

Nice and easy . Will make again.
Awsome! Moist! Good gravy for potatoes. My daughter doesn’t like pork chops typically but told me to save this recipe and she would definately eat this again. I made them for a quick family fathers day meal for 7 people. Everyone loved it and it was so simple. I was fearful to try out a new recipe given a holiday and my mom coming over especially with pork but I am glad I did AND I used boneless porkchops which scared me because those are usually drier but they were almost fall apart moist. I don’t usually write reviews unless they are REALLY good. This is a winner for sure! I made French Cut Green Beans, mashed potatoes and some rolls to go with this. PERFECT! EASY! Thank you!
I have made this recipe for my family so many times. They LOVE it!!! One of my favorite go-to
easy dinners to make that tastes GREAT!!
I’m going to make this recipe soon but wanted to ask if I can add cut up potatoes in the crock pot? Trying to make this a one pot meal not having to cook mashed potatoes on the side. Any suggestions?
This is my favorite pork chop recipe. I am making it today with 4 pork chops but I have doubled and tripled it for company. Everyone raved about it. I prefer to use boneless chops and I skip the gravy step. It makes good gravy without adding the flour. Excellent.
I’m normally not a fan of pork chops, but my husband is, so when I found this recipe, I thought I would give it a try. I now love making pork chops, they have so much flavor, and they literally melt in your mouth!! As for my husband, he said this is now his favorite way to have them. Thanks for the awesome recipe.
This is amazing that is all I have to say!! Absolutely delicious!!
Made these exactly like the recipe. They are fantastic. Will be adding to my regular recipes.
Made this recipe and it was awesome! Didn’t have the gravy mix but it was great without it. I did brown the pork chops first.
Ohmygosh! I was leary about making these, as I normally make fried pork chops. These came out sooo tasty! Everything I remembered about my mothers home cooking!
I will definitely be making these again!!
Awwww this is so sweet – thank you so very much Michelle!!
Delicious!!
I had given up on pork chops because they always seemed so tough and dry. Gave it another chance and used this recipe and they were DELICIOUS. I have finally found the right recipe. Thank you so much. I can now buy pork chops and add it into my rotation. Loved the gravy great recipe.
Have made this multiple times, and passed the recipe along to my sister in law. Always turns out so good!
I don’t have a pork gravy packet, or any gravy substitute. can i use something else or omit? thanks! trying to make this right now lol
My family and I ❤️❤️❤️❤️ they said they want a repeat on it
Yay!!! Score one for Momma!
I loved this! I added a few more things. Sage, crushed bay leaves and a bit of Worcestershire. I also served it over egg noodles. Delicious! I will definitely be making this again.
Simple and so much goodness!! I’ve made this a few times and have not altered the recipe. It truly does come out so tender.
Really good & so simple! This is definatly a keeper.
Hi Brandie,
I have a jar of pork gravy. Would this work in place of the dry packet and if so, should I rid of one of the other liquids? Or reduce?
Thanks so much in advance,
Klaire
Please help me Brandie! I swear I had a pack of pork gravy and now I can’t find it. I have au jus or brown gravy packs. Will either of these work? Thank you!!
Hey Janine – either one would work. Personally, I would go with the Au Jus but if you used the brown gravy – should still taste fine! 🙂
Beware of overeating… It’s that flipping good!
Haha! Love it – thank you Stephanie!!
Could I make this in the oven instead? I have more than 4 chips that needs to cook.
Hi Danielle, how many do you have to cook. You can still cook them in the slow cooker, you’ll just need to make sure your slow cooker is large enough. Unfortunately, I haven’t tested this recipe in the oven.
This was amazing! However, would this still be alright if cooked on high for two hours?
Did this turn out good made in 2 hrs on high ? I’m making this but just going to use extra thick chops
Soooooo good! I added chopped onions and green bell pepper and used roasted pork gravy!!!! OH MAN!!!
I think those additions are perfect!! Thank you Kim!
Simple to prepare and SO delicious! I used 1 teaspoon of Chicken Better than Bouillon with 1 cup of water instead of 14 oz. of chicken broth and the gravy didn’t need to be thickened. Perfect! Also—the pork loin roast happened to be cheaper than pork chops yesterday and the butcher sliced it for me. Win Win!
I love hearing that Bonnie!! Thank you so much for coming back to let me know!!
