AN EASY AND CHEESY APPETIZER OR SNACK

TIPS FOR MAKING THIS APPETIZER/SNACK

  • Bread – You will need an oval shaped loaf of bread that is uncut such as a sourdough or ciabatta. You can normally find these specialty type breads in the deli department of the grocery store. You don’t want a super soft bread for this recipe. If it’s too soft, it will be hard to cut and stuff properly.
  • Use unsalted butter for this recipe. The ranch seasoning has salt in it so you don’t want your bread to be overly salty.
  • I used Oscar Mayer real bacon pieces but you could use microwaveable bacon and then chop it up or fry up some bacon for this. Just depends on how much work you want to do.
  • Ranch seasoning – You can use a ranch seasoning packet from the store or make your own homemade ranch seasoning. If you make it yourself you will have it on hand for other recipes that call for ranch like ranch potatoes or chicken bacon ranch pasta.
  • Cheese – The fun part about this bread is that you can use whatever cheese you like! Want a spicier pull apart bread? Use a jalapeno cheddar cheese. I used sharp cheddar and mozzarella slices for my bread. You can also use slices or shredded cheese, it’s your choice. After having made this for many years, I have found the thick sliced cheese is the easiest to stuff the bread with.

HOW TO MAKE CHEESY BACON RANCH PULL-APART BREAD:

Preheat the oven to 350F degrees. Place bread on a large sheet of aluminum foil. Cut the bread diagonally with a bread knife, making sure not to cut through the bottom of the loaf. Cut the bread again diagonally, this time in the opposite direction. Make sure to not cut all the way through again. The second cut will give you the squares or rectangles that will be pulled out after baking.

I have not made this recipe yet because I just saw it posted here and printed it out. I can’t wait to make it because my sisters and I love Sourdough Bread. Thank you so much for posting 🙂

you could do something similar with parmesan or parmesano reggiano and butter/garlic and serve with a salad or with spaghetti… I'm drooling just thinking about both!!!

Thank you so very much to everyone who took the time to comment. I may not always get back right away but I do read each and every one! Patty – thank you so very much! What a sweet comment! I hope you love all the recipes you might try! Anonymous, what a great idea, why didn't I think of that? It certainly simplifies the process to combine the cheese and bacon, huh? ~Brandie

I mixed all the "stuffing" ingredients together and filled the slits with the mixture. Took less time. I also added chopped green onions to the mix. Wonderful!

Seems that this would not only be a "QUICK-FIX" item 4 any occation… but a fairly simple, versitile & affordable appitizer/side-dish!

I bet, if these cuties were pre-assembled, wrapped=up in both foil and ribbons; that they would be excellent "FUNDRAISER" items 4 eihter Church, School and/or Community Events????????

I have found a new friend! I also am drooling over all the recipes. They look so easy. I can't wait to try them after we move into our own home. I am most excited about trying the Sweet Tea. I love McDonald's sweet tea. I am hoping it is the same or better.
Thank you for coming into our lives!!!

I have been making "cheese bread" for at least 30 years, but without the ranch dressing mix. I'm thinking I will have to give this another spin…with the added ingredients. I always used the half-baked rounds of sourdough bread and opened the foil for the last 15 minutes so the top browns and the cheese edges crisp. Delicious!

  9. I made this today for the Super Bowl. It was gone even before the other guests arrived! Thanks for giving me a good treat to make 🙂 You've made me very popular…

I used to own a cafe where we baked a lot of our bread and I love it. This is an awesome idea and recipe. Thank you so much for this. My son loves bacon and so do I so I will have to try this. I can make the bread and then add the ingredients you suggest. Thanks for the recipe.
