FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Does this hold its shape when you slice it?

It is more of a medium-set dessert, it will slice and hold its shape fairly well but it’s not a fully solid dessert.

Can you use flavored Oreos?

Yes and I think that’s a fun idea especially around the holidays. This would be great with Peppermint Oreos during the chilly holidays.

Can this recipe be doubled?

Yes. Just double all the ingredients and put it into a 9×13-inch dish.

Can I serve this frozen?

This is also amazing served frozen. Just let it sit out for 30-45 minutes before serving. Gives it a ice cream cake feel.

How to store this Oreo No Bake Dessert?

Keep it covered in the fridge for up to 1 week or in the freezer for up to 3 months.

INGREDIENTS NEEDED: (SEE RECIPE CARD BELOW FOR THE FULL RECIPE)

  • Oreo cookies – you can use double stuft Oreos if you like. I think this dessert is so good with so many other flavors of Oreo cookies as well.
  • salted butter – it probably sounds weird to use salted butter but it really does help balance out the overall sweetness of this dessert
  • cream cheese – it is super important that the cream cheese is at room temperature. If it isn’t, you’ll end up with lumps in your filling that you’ll never get out no matter how long you whip it. You don’t want it melted though or this won’t set up properly.
  • powdered sugar – you don’t need to sift the powdered sugar but some folks like to sift it to make sure it is totally smooth without any chunks.
  • sweetened condensed milk – you have to be really careful when shopping for sweetened condensed milk. It’s right near the cans of evaporated milk so make sure you are grabbing the right one or this will not set up.
  • whipped topping – if you’ve never purchased whipped topping before, it is in the freezer section of the grocery store. It has to be thawed before use. Put it into the refrigerator to thaw overnight.

In a medium bowl, stir together the cookie crumbs with the melted butter until well combined. Press half of the mixture firmly into the bottom of an 8×8-inch or 9×9-inch baking dish, no need to spray with cooking spray. Place in the freezer while you make the filling.

In a large bowl with an electric hand mixer, or in the body of a stand mixer with the paddle attachment, mix together the cream cheese with the powdered sugar until smooth. Add the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract, mix well.
