A DELICIOUS OREO DESSERT

Oreo cookies never last long in my house. It really is a cookie that everyone loves and hoards. Ha! So I actually end up making lots of different Oreo inspired desserts because I almost always have them in the house. Seriously, have a look at all of my Oreo Dessert Recipes Here. So my newest and latest recipe are these Oreo Cheesecake Bars. As if we couldn’t love Oreos anymore, this recipe keeps all the flavors of that creamy and crunchy texture we love in the cookies and puts it all into a delicious cheesecake bar!

How long do these need to chill?

These need to chill for at least 4 hours for the cheesecake to fully set up.

Can I use Oreos as the crust?

You can but the ratio to sugar and butter would be different than just the graham cracker crumbs as Oreos soak up more butter.

Where do I find chocolate graham crackers?

You will find chocolate graham crackers near where all the other graham crackers are in your grocery store (typically near the cookies or sometimes in the baking aisle.) You will need to crush up those chocolate graham crackers into crumbs to use for this recipe. About 2 sleeves should do it.

Do the bars need to cool before refrigerating?

To prevent cracking in the refrigerator make sure you cool your bars fully on the countertop before placing in the refrigerator.

How do I store Oreo Cheesecake Bars?

These cheesecake bars can be stored in the pan or in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. They can also be frozen. To do this. bake and cool as directed. Cut each bar and place them on a baking sheet and place them in the freezer until frozen. Once frozen, remove them and wrap each bar individually in plastic wrap and place in a freezer bag. Remove to refrigerator to thaw before serving.

INGREDIENTS NEEDED: (FULL RECIPE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE POST)

  • chocolate graham cracker crumbs
  • granulated sugar
  • unsalted butter
  • cream cheese
  • vanilla extract
  • eggs
  • sour cream
  • Oreo cookies
  • whipped topping (optional)
Ingredients needed: chocolate graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, unsalted butter, cream cheese, vanilla extract, eggs.

HOW TO MAKE OREO CHEESECAKE BARS:

Preheat the oven to 325. Line a 9″x13″ pan with tinfoil, set aside. In a medium bowl add the graham cracker crumbs, sugar and butter.

Stir until well combined.

Press mixture into the prepared pan and bake in the oven for 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, in a large bowl or stand mixer, beat your cream cheese until smooth.

Add in the sugar and vanilla extract.

Beat until incorporated.

Add in the eggs one at a time.

Mix well after each addition.

Lastly add in the sour cream, mix until combined.

Fold in the chopped Oreos.

Pour into the crust , spreading evenly.

Bake in the oven for 35-40 minutes until the center is almost set, remove from the oven and let cool on the countertop completely. Cover and refrigerate for 4 hours to set. Remove from the refrigerator then cut into bars and top with whipped topping and halved Oreos if desired.

Cheesecake:

  • 32 ounces (4 blocks) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 15 Oreo cookies, roughly chopped
  • Cool Whip (optional)
  • Oreo cookies for topping (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 325F degrees.
  • Line a 9"x 13" pan with aluminum foil and set aside.
  • In a medium bowl stir together graham cracker crumbs, sugar and butter.
  • Press crust mixture into the prepared pan and bake in the oven for 10 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, in a large bowl or stand mixer, beat the cream cheese until smooth.
  • Add in the sugar and vanilla extract and beat again until combined.
  • Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Lastly add in the sour cream, mix until combined.
  • Fold in the chopped Oreo cookies and pour into the crust, spreading evenly.
  • Bake in the oven for 35-40 minutes until the center is almost set, remove from the oven and let cool on the countertop completely.
  • Cover and refrigerate for 4 hours to set.
  • Remove from the refrigerator then cut into bars and top with whipped topping and halved Oreo cookies, if desired.
