FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Do I have to use candy melts?

No, you can also use white chocolate (chips or baking bars) or almond bark. If you are not using candy melts and are wanting to color them orange, just make sure to use a gel food coloring (not liquid) so the chocolate does not seize.

Can another Oreo cookie flavor be used?

I would stick to the Golden Oreos for this recipe because we are adding pumpkin spice. If you want to leave the pumpkin spice out then regular Oreos can be used as well.

Do I have to freeze these before dipping?

I highly suggest freezing before dipping. This gives the Oreo mixture time to harden up and not fall apart when dipping into the chocolate.

Can I use other color candy melts?

Yes! You use whatever colors you want! Have fun with this recipe. No matter what color you use, they will still taste amazing!

What if I don’t have a food processor?

Just crush the cookies in a ziploc bag. I just smash them with a rolling pin until they are fine crumbs. Put crumbs in a large bowl and add the other ingredients then use an electric hand mixer until combined well.

The Oreo cookie mixture seems oily, is that normal?

Yes, that is completely normal and you will always get this when making Oreo cookie balls. There is nothing wrong with your mixture. It’s just the cream cheese that causes that look and feel but is also what makes these creamy and delicious!

How do I store leftovers?

These can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator where they will keep for up to 3 weeks. These are best at room temperature so I would let them sit out a bit before eating, but they are also good enjoyed chilled as well.

When cookie balls are ready, start melting the chocolate. Using microwave safe bowls, melt the colored candy melts according to the package directions.
