Pineapple Fluff (+Video)
This Pineapple Fluff recipe is a no-bake dessert recipe with Cool Whip, pineapple, marshmallows, instant pudding, pecans and coconut. Light and refreshing!
A LIGHT AND FRUITY DESSERT
This Pineapple Fluff is a different take on Orange Fluff. There are a lot of ways to change it up. All you have to do is switch out the pudding flavors or canned fruit. The great thing about fluff recipes is they are a nice sweet treat but aren’t heavy so they are perfect summer desserts!
TIPS FOR MAKING PINEAPPLE FLUFF:
- If you don’t like shredded coconut, just leave it out and use coconut cream pudding instead of vanilla.
- Or, if you can’t find the coconut cream pudding, just add a teaspoon of coconut extract to the mixture.
- To make it taste more like a Pina Colada, add a teaspoon of rum extract!
INGREDIENTS NEEDED: (SEE RECIPE CARD BELOW FOR THE FULL RECIPE)
- vanilla instant pudding mix
- crushed pineapple
- Cool Whip (whipped topping)
- mini marshmallows
- shredded sweetened coconut, optional
- chopped pecans
HOW TO MAKE PINEAPPLE FLUFF:
In a large bowl, stir together pudding mix and the entire can of crushed pineapple.
Gently stir in Cool Whip, marshmallows, coconut and nuts.
Stir just until combined.
Cover bowl with plastic wrap. Chill for a couple of hours before serving.

Is there a nut I could use in lieu of pecans that would still taste great?
Maybe walnuts
I’m excited to make this, but I hate marshmallows!
Any ideas on what to substitute??
I’m sure you cld use cream cheese instead of marshmallows correct?
I throw mandarin oranges into this fluff and everyone seems to like that way. I drain them though I use 1 to 2 little cans or one big can (15oz) if you can find.
This is so delicious! The entire family loved it!
This recipe looks so good and easy! Love every bit of it ????????????
How many points per serving
Can you use cook and serve pudding instead?
You want to use instant in the recipe.
Can you make it the night ahead?
Yes 🙂
Can you use marshmallow fluff instead of regular marshmallows?
I say No, totally not the same texture!
Can you sub homemade whipped cream for the cool whip?
Joy, homemade whipped cream is not as stable as COOL WHIP and will separate. You could certainly try it, but just make sure to eat it the same day it is made.
Love this fluff recipe! Quick and easy! I added Malibu coconut rum to mine and it is so so delicious!
Yum!! Love it Suzie!
Can I use homemade whipped cream?
could you add maraschino cherries to it
Marie – of course you can! They will make the mixture turn a bit pink that’s all. Just do your best to pat them dry before gently stirring them in 🙂
This looks delicious. Love the dessert cups. Would you mind sharing what kind of dessert cups they are?
Hi Julia! I only have a couple of them. The other few that I had broke during a move a few years ago 🙁 I was so bummed. I honestly cannot remember where I purchased them from. I would love more!
Hi Julia! You can get these desert cups at Kroger in the housewares section or a JayC store which is an affiliate of Kroger. They cost very about $2.99 for four.
This was great Brandie – thank you!
I love your site… thanks for sharing…..ruby gray
We love this but I used Greek yogurt & I also put in fruit cocktail along with oranges & fresh strawberries yummmy
How much greek yogurt did you use, and did you subtract any other ingredient?
Can this be made the night before or best to make a couple hours before hand?
You can make it the night before.
What can you use instead of marshmallows
Just leave them out. The recipe I had years ago did not have marshmallows in it so that’s the only way I knew and it was delicious!
