DELICIOUS GLAZED HAM AND CHEESE ROLLS
These Ham and Cheese Sliders have been a family favorite for years! They are a go-to when I’m not sure what to make for family and friend gatherings. The melted gooey cheese combined with the sliced ham and the delicious glaze that you spread on the bottoms and the top – it is an amazing combination of flavors! I promise that they will be a hit!
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Yes they can. Cover with aluminum foil and place I the refrigerator. You will need to add a few minutes to the baking time as you’ll be baking these from cold rather than room temperature.
I would keep the sandwiches covered with aluminum foil, even after baking. As you serve the sliders, just re-cover the baking pan to keep them warm. You could also individually wrap the sliders in aluminum foil then place them into a slow cooker. Keep the slow cooker on warm and let guests help themselves!
We do enjoy them cold. It you have leftovers you can wrap and place in the refrigerator. You can choose to eat them cold the next day or warm in the microwave.
These sliders do not come out soggy at all. I would suggest cutting the bottom half of the sliders a bit thicker than the top half. This will give plenty of bread for the sauce to soak into without it becoming soggy.
There’s a lot of different directions you can go here. You can serve them with soup. Or you can serve them with different salads like potato salad or macaroni salad. Cole slaw and baked beans all work well with these. To keep it simple, just serve with a variety of potato chips!
INGREDIENTS NEEDED: (SEE RECIPE CARD BELOW FOR THE FULL RECIPE)
- salted butter
- Worcestershire sauce
- light brown sugar
- mustard (yellow or dijon)
- King’s Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
- thinly sliced smoked ham
- Monterey Jack cheese
- poppy seeds (optional)
HOW TO MAKE GLAZED HAM AND CHEESE HAWAIIAN PARTY ROLLS:
Preheat oven to 350F degrees. In a small pot, melt stick of butter with Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar and mustard until thoroughly melted and combined.
Meanwhile, take rolls out of package and slice through all the rolls (while still attached), cutting them in half horizontally. Brush the glaze mixture onto both sides of the rolls, covering well. The glaze is what takes this over the top, so don’t be stingy. Just leave a little to brush on the tops.
Place bottom half of rolls into a baking dish.
On one side of rolls, add sliced ham.
Then top evenly with cheese.
Put top on rolls and then brush the tops with leftover glaze mixture and sprinkle with poppyseeds (if using.)
Cover tightly with aluminum foil.
Bake for about 25 minutes (until cheese is melted.)
Slice and serve! Optional: Put out some warmed raspberry preserves and let guests slather a bit of it on their rolls. It is so unbelievably good.

Can these be served cold ?
Yes, if you bake as written, any leftovers in the fridge can be served cold.
I live in Peterborough Ontario Canada and cannot find these rolls where could I get them or how can I make them
I have made these many times. Recipe is excellent. 10 minutes before they are done, I sprinkle the top with poppy seeds.
Can you make these up ahead of time? Wasnt sure how the glaze would be.
Sooooooo I've made these more times than I can count…. I'm making them again tonight for dinner… Thank you for this recipe.. It's super simple, delicious, and very addicting! I usually make 2 batches so we have enough for leftovers. It is one of my families favorite things!
Making these for breakfast. I will have 12 teenage girls sleeping over. Thanks for another great recipe!!
Made them for our Mothe's Day Brunch and they were a big hit. Delicious. Thanks for the recipe
Love your site! Has anyone ever made these Party Rolls with turkey or chicken? Would the sauce go well with a poultry substitute?
Thanks for any help I have some in family that don't enjoy ham.I know, its their loss.
Someone at my church makes them with turkey and pepperjack.. Spread mayo n mustard on the bread.. And do butter and minced onion for topping. They are super good
would it matter if I used unsalted butter ? Would it alter the taste ?
Love all your recipes can't wait to try them ALL I also like that you take pics and go step by step very helpful thank u so much 🙂
I've used this recipe for several years, and everyone loves these melty warm little sandwiches! Please note that the King's Hawaiian Rolls are now smaller than they used to be, so the package of 12 won't be enough to fit your ingredients into. You'll need to buy a 2nd package of rolls and add some from the 2nd package to the first package to fill the baking dish and to fit the ingredients.
Yet another fabulous idea! They didn't last long when I took them out of the oven! I have now made several of your recipes and they have gone over quite well! I also love that you do the step-by-step photos so that I know I am not messing something up along the way! LOL
OMGosh these look sooo good. I actually have never had these or even seen them at any get together I've gone to. I think I'm going to bring them to our family.s little easter "lupper" this weekend.
Just found your website while looking for chicken tatertot casserole recipes and I have been hooked. I'm sitting here almost drooling over all these awesome recipes! I really love how you take a picture of all the ingredients together. I have this nasty habit of somehow missing an ingredient when I look over the list to see if I have everything for a recipe. Having the photo to look at really helps! Thanks so much for your recipes, can't wait to try them all. There goes my diet before it even started!
What a wonderfully sweet comment! That means so much to me that you love how the recipes and photos are laid out. Makes all the work worth it just to hear that! Thank you for taking the time to let me know 🙂
