A FUN COPYCAT RECIPE

I’m a huge lover of all things Big Mac related, not just the sandwiches that you can get at the restaurant. I like to take a spin on them and make them into other things like wraps, salads and now I’m adding theses Big Mac Sliders to the list. Don’t let the list of ingredients fool you. These are actually very simple to make. Whether you make this for family or friends, they will be a guaranteed hit! If you are a fan of the original version, then you need to make my Big Mac Slider recipe!

SUBSTITUTIONS:

  • Ground beef – Instead of beef you can use ground turkey, ground chicken or a mixture of ground beef and italian sausage.
  • Buns – We like to use Hawaiian Rolls for these but you can use any kind of slider bun that you’d like. They will still taste amazing.
  • Vegetarian – the beef hamburger can be replaced with a plant-based burger to make this vegetarian.
  • Spices – You can add or omit any of the seasonings in this recipe to your liking.
  • Cheese – American is our go-to cheese for this recipe but you can swap out with cheddar, gouda, muenster, pepper jack and more. Make it how you would like it best.

VARIATIONS:

  • Spicy – If you want a little more spice to your burgers, just add some red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper.
  • Deluxe – You can add shredded lettuce and tomatoes to these as well if you want them to have more ingredients or that is how you enjoy your hamburgers!

Ingredients needed: mayonnaise, French dressing, dill pickle relish, dried minced onion, granulated sugar, white vinegar, garlic, kosher salt, lean ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, Hawaiian slider rolls, American cheese, pickle chips, ketchup, mustard, unsalted butter and sesame seeds.

HOW TO MAKE BIG MAC SLIDERS:

Preheat the oven to 350°F. In a small bowl, stir together the mayonnaise, French dressing, dill pickle relish, dried minced onion, sugar, vinegar, garlic, and salt. Place in the refrigerator until ready to use.

Sauce mixed together in bowl.

In a large bowl add the ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until combined, I like to do this by hand.

Portion the meat into 9 portions. Roll them into balls and place them on a sheet tray covered with plastic wrap for easy clean-up. Place them about 2 inches apart. Add another layer of plastic wrap on top.

Burger portioned into balls and placed on baking sheet with plastic wrap.

Press them down flat, I like to use the bottom of a drinking glass to do this. Remove the top layer of plastic wrap.

Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the burger patties to the skillet, do not crowd the pan, no need to add any oil to the pan, there is enough fat in the meat. Brown on both sides for about 3 minutes, or an internal temperature reaches 140°F. You may need to do this in batches.

Place the bottom half of the slider buns into a 9×9 baking dish. Place the burger patties on top of each slider bun.

Cooked hamburgers placed on top of buns.

Top with the cheese. Top each slider with 2 pickle chips. Drizzle with ketchup and mustard.

Cover with the top half of the buns. Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes.

Tops of buns added to the tops of the hamburgers in pan.

Take off the foil and brush the tops of the buns with the melted butter, use it all! Sprinkle the sesame seeds on top. Bake for an additional 5 minutes uncovered to toast the buns. Serve with more special sauce on the side for dipping.

Hint: Using sesame seeds gives a real pop to these and make these Big Mac Sliders look and taste like the real thing. They can easily be found in the spice section of your local grocers.
