Comeback Sauce
Comeback Sauce is a creamy dipping sauce that’s a little savory, a touch of sweet and has just the right amount of seasoning. Perfect for fries, chicken, onion rings and so much more!
A DIPPING SAUCE FOR EVERYTHING
Comeback Sauce, also known as Mississippi Comeback Sauce, is one of my favorite dipping sauces. You can really use it in so many ways (I think its even good as a salad dressing!) I find a lot of these dipping sauces are super similar. This one reminds me of Raising Cane’s sauce or others like Utah Fry Sauce, Jack Browns or In-n-Out sauce. They all have pretty much the same flavor profiles with just slight variations in the seasonings. It’s super easy to make and is ready with just two minutes of prep- then just letting it hang out in the fridge for all the flavors to meld and come together.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Comeback sauce is a popular Southern condiment that is often compared to a more zesty version of Thousand Island dressing. It’s great for dipping fried foods like chicken tenders or onion rings, as well as being used as a dressing for salads or sandwiches.
Comeback Sauce supposedly gets its name from its addictive flavor that keeps you coming back for more. Others say it’s because once you try it, you’ll keep coming back to it for every meal. Or it might have originated as a way to redeem a bland dish by adding a punch of flavor that brings it back to life.
Yup, try adding some cayenne, chipotle powder, or hot sauce to add a little heat.
As much as I want to say, no, you’d be doing yourself (and this sauce) a disservice. It really needs to sit at least 2 hours for the flavors to blend well. Trust me, the wait is worth it!
Keep in the fridge for up to 1 week. I do not recommend freezing.
