TIPS FOR MAKING AIR FRYER CHICKEN DRUMSTICKS:

  • We use chicken drumsticks for this recipe but you can use wings as well. With wings, you will need to cut down on cooking time.
  • Use any type of oil that you like, we enjoy the flavor of olive oil but if you do not keep that on hand ,vegetable and canola work fine.
  • Do not overcrowd your air fryer, this keeps the chicken from getting crispy and cooking properly.
  • You’ll want to make sure that your chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165F degrees. I recommend getting a kitchen thermometer if you don’t already own one.
  • Pat the drumsticks dry with paper towels before seasoning. This helps the seasoning stick onto them better.
  • You can easily double this recipe for larger families, just make more batches. As stated above, do not overcrowd the air fryer.
  • You can adjust the seasonings to your liking. This is the flavor we like best, but you can adjust to your preference.
  • Make sure to preheat your air fryer before cooking. It’s just like preheating your oven, it will help them cook faster and evenly.

  • These Chicken Drumsticks are so good, you’ll be lucky too have any left to store! But if you do the best way to store these are in a ziptop bag or an airtight container in the refrigerator, they will last in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, to reheat place back in air fryer and cook for 10 minutes.
  • These can also be frozen, place in freezer safe containers of freezer bags and they should keep for up to 3 months. To reheat let them defrost in the refrigerator and again place in air fryer for 10 minutes to heat through.

  1. Hi. My air fryer has two slots to put the chicken on. Should I rotate the trays during cooking, add more time? Thanks.

  2. 5 stars
Brandie, I love your recipes. So many are healthy and taste good too! 🙂 What size air fryer do you have. Mine is quite small, so I am wondering what size will work best for the chicken legs. Thank you! Rhoda Smith, Barbados, West Indies

    1. Hi Rhoda! A 5-quart air fryer is the ideal size. They make them larger but I think a 5 quart is all most people need! There is a brand called Cosori that I usually recommend if you’re looking for a specific brand recommendation. 🙂
