FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Can I change up the ingredient ratio?

Absolutely! Feel free to mix up the snack ingredient ratios to fit your tastebuds. If you really like one ingredient more than another, feel free to go a little heavy on one and lighter on another. It’s up to you! Just be sure to keep the total volume of ingredients the same.

What else could I add to this Snack Mix?

Guys, the sky is the limit here. You can easily swap out ingredients or lower ratios and add other things in. When you go to toss it altogether, you could add more Ranch Seasoning to really up the flavor profile or you could toss in something else a bit sweet like M&M’s or chocolate baking chips. You could swap Goldfish for White Cheddar Goldfish or Cheez-Its. You could add in raisins or craisins too. Oyster crackers, other small crackers, or even Sun Chips could be added to this mixture.

Can you freeze Ranch Bugle Snack Mix?

The exciting thing is, yes, you can freeze this! It freezes nicely in a freezer safe container and can be kept for up to 3 months.

How do you store leftover snack mix?

This does make a pretty big batch, so you may have leftovers which you can just toss in a ziptop bag and remove any excess air. Or you can plop it in an airtight container. Either way, keep it at room temperature for up to 1 week. Keep it longer by freezing as mentioned above.

INGREDIENTS NEEDED: (SEE RECIPE CARD BELOW FOR THE FULL RECIPE)

  • unsalted butter – I use unsalted butter because there is salt in the ranch seasoning mix as well as on the mixed nuts and pretzels. It must be real butter here, not margarine.
  • ranch seasoning mix– just grab a packet or make your own homemade Ranch Seasoning Mix.
  • Bugles – flavored Bugles could also be used to change up the snack mix
  • mixed nuts– depending on who I’m making this for, I sometimes choose to use just a favorite kind of nuts versus the mixed selection. This can also be eliminated if there’s a nut allergy. Just be sure to make up the volume with a little more of a different ingredient.
  • mini pretzels– regular pretzels could be traded for flavored pretzels like honey mustard pretzels.
  • Honey Nut Cheerios – Regular Cheerios (without honey) could be used.
  • Goldfish crackers – I think the rainbow Goldfish would be really pretty in here and make it a bit more colorful.
