Halloween White Trash (+Video)

Halloween White Trash mix is a no-bake salty and sweet dessert. A mixture of peanuts, pretzels, candy corn and white chocolate vanilla melts.

A SWEET AND SAVORY SNACK

This is a fun little treat to make for Halloween. It’s so simple to whip up and kids and adults love it! I love to make this along with my Harvest Chex Mix during the fall season. I’ve made this with Bugles, Fritos, potato chips, M&M’s – you name it. It’s easily customizable to your tastes!

WHY IS IT CALLED WHITE TRASH?

We’ve always called these sort of “dump and stir” treats white trash or just “trash” if we used other flavor chocolates. “Trash” was just the term given to this since you could use whatever ingredients you wanted and then plop it into a bowl, add melted chocolate and boom – you had a fast and easy treat.

I’m allergic to peanuts , is there a different nut you would recommend? Also when we were kids, my mom would make this plain ang a friend would call it dog food.

Mary Lou, you can but the shortening is probably use to help harden the candy. Oil doesn’t harden. That’s my thinking but you can buy Crisco in very small cans
