FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I like the bone-in pork chops for this recipe. I find that it really gives this dish a lot of flavor but if you prefer boneless you can certainly do that. But I definitely do not recommend a thin cut pork chop. Just be careful when taking them out when they are finished cooking. The meat will be very tender so I like to scoop them out with a spatula.
My absolute favorite side dish with this is mashed potatoes. Rice or egg noodles are also good. I also like to serve it with some steamed vegetables. (like broccoli or carrots) and maybe some Butter Swim Biscuits!
I don’t recommend cooking on high. The meat will not come out as tender. Cooking it low and slow will ensure fall-apart tender pork chops.
You can pretty much us any cream soup your family enjoys. Cream of mushroom, cream of chicken, cream of onion, cream of mushroom and chicken will all work here.
You could definitely season with pepper but I don’t recommend salt as there is enough salt in the other ingredients.
Where applicable, you could certainly substitute with those options. I prefer low sodium options here because we’re also using packets of pork gravy and onion soup mix which also have sodium in them.
It’s totally optional but I really think the gravy works better when thickened.
I find this recipe works better in an oval slow cooker instead of a round one. The chops cook more evenly.
Store leftovers in an airtight container and put into the refrigerator. Eat within two days. I don’t recommend freezing leftovers.

HOW TO MAKE TO MAKE CROCK POT PORK CHOPS
In a 5-6 quart slow cooker, combine onion soup mix, chicken broth, cream of chicken soup and pork gravy mix. Whisk together until combined. Don’t worry about any lumps, they will go away during cooking. Season both sides of the chops with a little bit of garlic powder.
Place pork chops into the slow cooker. Do your best to spread them out and cover with the gravy mixture. Cover and cook on low about 4-6 hours
Just before the pork chops are done. Whisk together the corn starch and cold water in a small bowl.
Once it is smooth, pour it in with your pork chops in the slow cooker and stir gently. Cover and switch the slow cooker to high and cook for another 30 minutes (until gravy has thickened.) Then serve with mashed potatoes!

Notes
- This is one of those fix-it and forget it type crock pot recipes. It helps to have a digital crock pot these days. You can cook it for a certain amount of time so and then it will automatically go to a keep-warm setting.
- I like the bone-in pork chops for this recipe. I find that it really gives this dish a lot of flavor but if you prefer boneless you can certainly do that. But I definitely do not recommend a thin cut pork chop. Just be careful when taking them out when they are finished cooking. The meat will be very tender so I like to scoop them out with a spatula.

Best, easiest pork chop recipe I’ve found! Made it several times and everyone loves it!
Was very good!! Super yummy!!
I realize this recipe was posted years ago, but it was too good for me NOT to leave a comment. Thank you for this recipe! This one was stellar! Great flavor & super tender. I only had golden mushroom soup on hand, so used that instead of the cream of chicken. Since I didnt have a big enough crockpot, I used the dutch oven, 300F for 2 hrs, then added cornstarch, cooked 30 more minutes. It tasted great. I will definitely be making this recipe again soon!
Moms coming over for dinner tonight and I have this recipe in my crock pot right now.. I followed the recipe exactly except- I didn’t have low sodium products as called for. With all the rave reviews, I can’t wait to try!
Looking forward to dinner tonight with mom and this new dish. I will let you know how it turns out. Thank you so much for posting this simple recipe!!
Tried this on Tuesday! Absolutely delicious! Thank you for the recipe! Will be my go to for porkchops
Can i do this in a pressure cooker? Did this in slow cooker, a must have recipe!!!
Hi Deborah! You sure could! I don’t have a pressure cooker so I couldn’t tell you instructions but I’m sure your pressure cooker has instructions for cooking a beef roast. I would just go with those directions. 🙂
Could this recipe work just over stove, i dont have a slow cooker, but want to try this
Hi Donna! Sure you could. I will just say I’ve never tried it so I couldn’t give you exact instructions for it…
Delicious! I made with 2 bone-in pork chops and it turned out fantastic. Gravy was perfect! Served with mashed potatoes and roasted veggies. Will definitely make again!
Nice! I love it! Thanks so much for coming back to let me know!!
This is a favourite in our house! I actually make it with a pork roast instead of pork chops.. and it turns out amazing every time. Same exact directions, just different cut of meat! Thanks for the awesome recipe!!
I followed the recipe except instead of the onion mix I only had herb and garlic and instead of pork gravy, I only had beef gravy mix. But it all worked. Taste was good- slightly a bit salty. Served with mashed potatoes and roasted baby carrots.
Hubby said these are the best pork chops he’s ever had!
I made these tonight for my family and it was delicious! Simple and the the pork chops came out so tender. We had all the ingredients too, just had to pick up a packet of gravy mix. Perfect with mashed potatoes. I love finding new crock pot recipes! Thanks for sharing.
Found this recipe on my Facebook timeline. Had to try it! Just got back from the store with all the ingredients. The dinner is now officially in the crock pot. Can’t wait to see how they turn out. I used boneless chops as I already had these in the freezer. Hope they turn out as tender as the bone-in. Here is hoping…fingers crossed. I will update later with Star review. 🙂
Cheers from Calgary Canada!
Update: My dinner was a success! Very tasty. I followed the instructions to a ”t’ Next time I will go with bone-in chops. I will be making this recipe again and again.
Cheers!
Yay! So glad to hear that Cindy! Thanks for the update! 🙂
This was easy and delicious!!
I have never been a big lover of pork chops, but my family is! So when I came across this recipe and all the rave reviews I knew I wanted to try it. I’m so glad I did! These are the best pork chops hands down, and have made me a pork chop fan! I wouldn’t change a thing about the recipe!! I did however double the recipe to feed some friends, and cooked them on low for closer to 7 1/2 hours. They were fall off the bone perfect!
I have a large family and would need to use 8-10 pork chops. Do I need to double everything?
I ended up making 8 chops and doubled the ingredients. They turned out perfect!!
I’ve had this recipe saved on my Pinterest for a year now and finally am getting around to trying it. Went to good ole Kroger this morning and found beautiful thick cut chops. Got all my ingredients ready to pop into the crockpot! Nothing like comfort food on a stormy day! Can’t wait to see how it turns out!
Hope you love it!
I used ranch dressing instead of onion soup and I floured and browned the chops.
I threw in thawed thick boneless chops into my electric pressure cooker/slow cooker with all the ingredients and had this done in about 30-40 minutes and it tastes like it cooked all day when you use a pressure cooker. I just turned it to slow cooker after the pressure cooker was finished to thicken the gravy and keep it warm till dinner time. Smelled so good through the house while cooking.
Thank you so much for showing us how you did it in the pressure cooker. I know folks are always looking for ways to make meals in the instant pot! Love it!
This was so easy and made some amazing, delicious chops! Will make again and again. The only thing we did differently was added a can of mushrooms. Epic.
Thank you Chrissie! I always appreciate when folks come back to let me know how it turned out!

I LOVE THIS RECIPE. I COOK IT AT ONCE A WEEK. THANK YOU FOR SHARING IT
So I have five brats and i need to make about 10 chops. Should I just double the recipe?
These are amazing!!! Made them today with thick-cut pork tenderloin. Even my pork chop hater LOVED them!
It sounds great but not possible for a weeknight dinner. $ hours is too long and not long enough for cooking on a weeknight. I will try it on a weekend and save the leftovers.
I made this for dinner tonight, it was fantastic. Everyone loved it. Pork chops melted in your mouth. Thank you for all your wonderful recipes.????
