A FUN MUMMY THEMED MEAL
If there is one recipe that I make every year it is these Halloween Mummy Dogs. My family really looks forward to it. They are so fun and easy and kids absolutely love them. Heck, I absolutely love them! You’re really never are too old to enjoy food like this! With minimal ingredients, these come together in no time. Serve them with your favorite dipping sauce and they are great for lunch or dinner. I highly recommend using the dough sheet for this recipe as all you have to do is cut it into strips. If you can’t find them and are using the regular crescent rolls, just make sure that you seal the perforations really well before cutting into strips.
You can use any of your favorite brand or flavor of hot dogs for this recipe. We are fans of Nathan’s brand hot dogs or the Kirkland brand hot dogs from Costco.
No, this is completely optional. To make the eyes you can use dots of mustard or mayonnaise as well.
Yes, we frequently use cheese in this recipe as well. If you are wanting to use cheese in these Halloween Mummy Dogs you can cut them into strips and wrap around and then wrap your crescent strips around that or you can just wrap a slice of cheese around it and then the dough.
This is where you can use your favorite! Ketchup, mustard, bbq sauce, ranch, etc.
These can be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container where they will keep for up to three days. They can also be frozen. Place in a freezer container or bag and they will keep for up to 3 months. To defrost, remove to the refrigerator overnight until thawed. To reheat, they are best heated in the oven at 350F degrees until warmed through. If you heat these in the microwave they may get soggy.

- hot dogs
- sheet crescent roll dough
- ketchup
- candy eyes

HOW TO MAKE HALLOWEEN MUMMY DOGS:
Preheat the oven to 375°F. Line a sheet tray with parchment paper, set aside. Pat the hot dogs dry with paper towels, set aside.

Roll out the crescent dough and cut it into ¼ inch strips.

Wrap the hot dogs with the strips of the dough, gently stretching it as you wrap. Make sure to leave some room for the eyes. I like to make it so you can see some of the hot dog itself poking out, but you can make them as covered up as you want. Try to make it so the seams of the dough are on the underside of the hot dog.

Place the hot dogs, seam side down onto the sheet trays. Bake for 11-13 minutes until golden brown and the hot dogs are warmed through.

Let the mummies cool on the tray for 5 minutes.

Put a little dab of the ketchup on the back of a candy eye and place it onto the hot dog so it will stick. Repeat with all the eyes and mummies.

Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauces.

- 20 candy eyes

Notes
- You do not have to use the candy eyes, you can use mustard or mayonnaise to make the eyes instead.
- Cheese can be used in this recipe, see above on how to do that.
- Sheets of crescent dough works best but you can use regular crescent rolls if you seal the perforations well.
