Air Fryer Banana Bread
Tasty and tender, this Air Fryer Banana Bread is a fun way to make delicious mini loaves of your favorite classic bread recipe!
AN AIR FRYER QUICK BREAD RECIPE
The Air Fryer is a popular kitchen appliance with many uses – even baking! Yes, you can absolutely bake in the air fryer with just as tasty results as you would if you were to bake it in the oven. This Air Fryer Banana Bread has become one of my favorite ways to make banana bread. Instead of one large loaf, you will end up with mini loaves which I think actually works better for me. One for now and two for later! It gets nice and golden on the outside but still stays soft and moist in the outside. If you want to try our your air fryer for baking, then you absolutely have to make this Air Fryer Banana Bread recipe.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
This recipe will be using about 1 cup of mashed bananas so usually two large or 3 medium bananas. You want the bananas to have brown spots all over them because this will indicate that they are nice and sweet and perfect for baking!
For this recipe you will be needing mini loaf pans. They roughly measure 5 3/4 x 3 1/4-inches and hold about 2 cups of batter each.
This will make 3 mini loaves. Do not try making in a large loaf pan since it likely won’t fir. If you have a larger oven-style air fryer, you can certainly experiment but I would still recommend the mini loaf pans for more even baking.
For this recipe I used a 5.8 quart air fryer which is a standard size that most people own. I was able to bake 2 loaves at once so it will have to make these in batches.
I’ve tested these mini pans in the oven with this recipe at 350F and they took about 30 minutes to fully cook. Confirm doneness by inserting a toothpick into the banana bread. If it comes out clean, remove from the oven. If the batter is still wet in the center, increase cooking time. Times will vary depending on pan size.
If you are not a pecan lover you can swap out with chopped walnuts or chocolate chips or omit completely.
These can be stored in an airtight container where they will last at room temperature for up to 3-4 days. Banana bread can also be frozen, Freeze sliced or whole loaves wrapped in plastic wrap, then foil, and they will keep in the freezer for up to 4 months. Defrost in the refrigerator or on the countertop.

INGREDIENTS NEEDED: (FULL RECIPE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE POST)
- all-purpose flour
- baking soda
- kosher salt
- granulated sugar
- overripe bananas (lots of brown spots)
- unsalted butter
- vanilla extract
- egg
- pecans

HOW TO MAKE AIR FRYER BANANA BREAD:
Grease three mini loaf baking pans and set aside. I like to spray with Baker’s Joy which is a nonstick baking spray that has flour in it. In a medium mixing bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.

In a separate large mixing bowl, mash the bananas and mix with the granulated sugar until creamy.

Pour the melted butter into the banana mixture and mix well. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the banana mix and mix until just combined.

Add in half of the flour mixture to the banana mixture and stir until just combined. Pour in the remaining flour mixture and stir until the batter is combined well.

Gently stir in the chopped pecans into the batter.

Preheat the air fryer to 330F degrees. While the air fryer preheats, scoop the batter into your prepared mini loaf pans, filling about halfway full. (This will make 3 loaves, if using a slightly larger pan you will want to fill the pans about ⅔ full and end up with 2 loaves). Place the pans into the basket of your air fryer and bake on the air fry setting at 330 for 20-25 minutes.* (A toothpick inserted into the center of the banana bread loaf should come out clean when it’s fully done cooking).

When the banana bread has finished cooking, remove from the air fryer and let it cool fully in the pans before removing.

Slice and serve!

Enjoy!

Great recipe! But!! How long if you want to make one large loaf? I’ve got a big air fryer..
So happy you like it! I unfortunately do not own a really large air fryer that allows me to make one large loaf so I really can’t give you a time. Might have to be a bit of experiment on your part or perhaps there are other similar recipes online that can give a recommended time? Hope you love it!
This is an awesome recipe. The bread came out super moist. It was excellent. Going to make it this way from now on. Thank you for the recipe.
Yay! Love hearing that Ana! Thanks so very much for taking the time to come back and comment!
I wasn’t quick enough to take a picture!!
This is a great recipe! I did double the recipe and use 2 extra banana and didn’t put in the pecans.
(I didn’t have any.)
This is now my go to banana bread recipe.
Great recipe!
I was SO ready to try this, got the ingredients together and when I grabbed my mini pans, which haven’t been used it YEARS, they were rusted. Nope, not going there. BUT I really had my mouth set for some banana bread… so I grabbed my silicon cupcake holders, found out my Gourmia 5.5qt fryer will hold 6 at a time. I baked 5 the first time around, 6 are baking now and I have another 4 to bake… but if I hadn’t overfilled the cupcake holders, I could have gotten 20 out of the recipe. Needless to say, the moment the first batch left the fryer I had to taste one. I did let it cool for about 3-4 minutes, I’m no glutton, but then I pulled one apart, added a touch of whipped butter… AND I AM IN BANANA BREAD HEAVEN!!!!! This stuff is delicious, easy to make, and I DIDN’T HAVE TO HEAT MY OVEN!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!
I’d love to try this today, my bananas are READY! But quick question first… my basket style air fryer also has a bake option. Do I use air fry or bake for these??? TIA
I am not familiar with that. Mine only has an air fry option and that is how I tested this. I’m sorry, I can’t tell you how it would work with a bake option or how it changes things. :/
Ah, but you did! Air fry it is! Thanks for the reply, making this tomorrow! OH yeah, no more tossing bananas for THIS air frying addict! Thanks so much for an air fried BREAD recipe! Priceless!
Let me know how it turns out for you!
Super easy and came out delicious. I’ve never made banana bread or any other kind of bread before and this was really easy to follow and pretty reliable on the results
Can this be converted to one standard bread pan?
It should be. This recipe was specifically created for the air fryer with the times indicated. If it’s too thick, the air fryer may not be able to properly bake the inside and the outside will get overdone.
excellent
This banana bread was great! My fancy oven is not working and I was craving banana bread. THis was as good or better than most recipes I have baked in a conventional oven. Thank you!
More of a question… my loaves were a little dark on top but still kind of raw on the bottom. Could I do something different to be more successful?
I had this issue two when I cooked two loaves at the same time. Perhaps rotating the pans half way may help?
Awesome recipe, so yummy
If looking for less calories, use Banana Cream yogart in place of butter and sugar. Add 1 tbsp brown sugar for color.
