Do you ever have one of those weeks where you and your family just can't decide what to have for supper for the coming week?
You're sitting there at your table, trying to come up with a list of dinner ideas, so you can go
to the grocery store to pick up what you need and all you are hearing from your family is, "I don't know".
And you are thinking about your usual rotation of meals and nothing is really sounding great.

And you are thinking about your usual rotation of meals and nothing is really sounding great.
And then you realize that you might be in a bit of a cooking rut and at this point you want
something new and not just the same ole thing.
Yep, that's what you need. Something new but easy and tasty.

Yep, that's what you need. Something new but easy and tasty.
You've got all your spices all in one place and already pre-measured.
And McCormick provides you with a handy dandy recipe card on the back that easily
detaches and tells you what other items you need to have to make this meal happen.
detaches and tells you what other items you need to have to make this meal happen.
Maybe you are new to cooking or you just don't cook very often so you don't have a variety of spices in your pantry.
This package takes care of all that for you.
You add a lot of flavor with these spice combinations and it helps you easily make a meal that
will really impress you and your family and maybe help you get out of that dinner rut.
Thanks to McCormick and Dailybuzz Food, I was recently able to get my hands on one of these Recipe Inspiration packets.
The Apple & Sage Pork Chops to be specific.
Now, I'll be perfectly honest. I love to eat apples with pork.
But I usually eat them separate. I've made fried apples many times to eat with pork loin or pork chops.
But I've never actually combined the two for one dish.
So I eyed this packet a bit skeptically but I was up for the challenge.
I bought my pork chops and my apples and I was on my way.
Let's just say that as soon as I started opening those little seasoning packets, I knew this was
going to be something special and unlike anything I had ever made before.
Ingredients:
(1) McCormick Recipe Inspirations packet for Apple & Sage Pork Chops
4 boneless pork chops (about 1-inch thick)
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
2 red apples, thinly sliced
2 tbsp. olive oil
1 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 cup apple juice
1 tbsp. brown sugar

Note: I thought half of an onion and one apple were plenty for this dish.
But if you like lots of onion and apple, please go exactly by the written recipe.
This really could not be any easier to get started.

All the spices are in these individual packets.
They are easy to open and you are going to love the smells that start happening when you open them.
Directions:
Prepare your apples and onions by thinly slicing them.
Leave the skin on for the apples.
Add 2 tbsp. olive oil to a large skillet.
Begin preheating your oil on medium high heat.
Place pork chops into the hot oil. Brown both sides of the pork chops.
You'll probably only need a minute or two to brown each side.
Take pork chops out and set them aside.
They won't be fully cooked at this point but that's ok, they will finish cooking with the sauce.
Add in the thinly sliced onions to the skillet and stir for about 3 minutes or until tender.
Then add in thinly sliced apples, cook and stir for 2 minutes.
Stir in juice, sugar and remaining seasoned flour.
Mix well.

I served it with a crisp green salad and some sliced french bread.
We really enjoyed this meal. It definitely makes your house smell amazing while it is cooking.
Even my 6 year old commented, "What are you making? It smells so good!"
So there you go, even my picky eaters approved.
So if you want to try something new or maybe want to get out of the dinner rut, try picking up one of these little packets of inspiration.
There are lots of flavors to enjoy like Garlic Lime Chicken Fajitas or Caribbean Grilled Steak and many more.
Enjoy!
