You can make it in minutes and use it for so many dishes! You don’t have to use it just for fajitas either, try using it for tacos, grilling, sautéing, or even stir-fried foods (meats and veggies!) FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

What should I use this Fajita Seasoning on?

Any of your favorite fajitas recipes of course! Air Fryer Steak Fajitas, Chicken Fajitas (or Crock Pot Chicken Fajitas), Sheet Pan Beef Fajitas and Chicken Fajita Casserole. Or go off the beaten path a bit and use it in Arroz Con Pollo or Chicken Tostadas or Tater Tot Enchilada Bake!

Can I adjust the blend of spices?

Certainly. For a smokier taste, they can use smoked paprika. The cayenne pepper is optional since I know some folks are sensitive to it. I think that is a huge benefit to making it yourself is that you can adjust the flavors to suit your preference. Not a huge fan of cumin? Just use less – etc.

Is this spicy?

While the cayenne pepper can be adjusted to bring more heat, I don’t feel like this is a super spicy blend of spices. It’s just the right amount of spice and flavor to create the perfect mixture to use on your fajitas.

How long does Homemade Fajita Seasoning last?

You can keep the seasoning in a tight sealed container for up to 6 months. Make sure to check the expiration date of the seasonings. Using fresh seasonings will help this homemade mixture last longer.

How much fajita seasoning is in a packet?

You would use about 3 Tablespoons of this seasoning to substitute a packet of store-bought seasoning.

A jar with a wooden spoon holding some Homemade Fajita Seasoning.

  • paprika  – for a bit of smokiness, try smoked paprika!
  • coarse kosher salt – you can use regular salt if that is all you have
  • black pepper
  • garlic powder
