Just like Sonic (maybe better) 😉

A number of years ago, a friend got me hooked on Cherry Limeades from Sonic Drive-In. And since that day, I have never looked back. The only time I’ll actually buy one these days though is when I can get them at half-price during their Happy Hour. The rest of the time, I just make them myself.

Cherry Limeade

This recipe is so ridiculously easy, I’m almost embarrassed to share it….almost. Now, I realize you can go to Wal-Mart and pick up some premade Cherry Limeade. And that stuff isn’t half bad. But I prefer to make it myself because I can control the flavors more. And I just think it tastes a bit more like the one from Sonic. Now, are ya paying attention? There’s a lot of ingredients here, don’t want ya gettin’ lost. 😉
Cherry Limeade recipe from The Country CookIngredients:
1 (2 liter) Sprite
1 (12 oz) can frozen concentrate limeade
1 (10 oz.) jar of maraschino cherries
1-2 limes (for serving)

frozen limeade, sprite, maraschino cherries, limes

Directions:
In a large pitcher, combine Sprite…

adding Sprite to pitcher

…frozen limeade and the entire jar of maraschino cherries (including the syrup).

maraschino cherries and sprite in pitcher

Mix slowly (so it doesn’t bubble over).

stirring together cherry limeade mixture

Pour over ice and add a wedge of lime.

Enjoy!

AWESOME! Wish they made sugar free maraschino cherries and I'd be all set. I could drink a gallon of this by myself. Thanks so much for sharing.

Instead of using the juice from your jar of cherries, you can buy bottles of just the cherry syrup. I've been doing this for years…add it to lots of different beverages….cherry always makes it yummier!

Tried this and it was wonderful. If you are looking to save a few calories wal mart verision of crystal light in lime margarita and a splash of grenadine is really good.
