I am just so thrilled that we have another Country Cook friend joining us in the kitchen.
When I put out the call to have readers submit their favorite family recipes, I was just so pleased at the lovely recipes and stories everyone was sharing.
This next recipe is from Miranda Sutton in Petaluma, California.

Hello! My Name is Miranda Sutton, I am from Petaluma, California. I currently live in Southern California and I miss home!
When I get homesick, I usually whip up a batch of cinnamon rolls. My siblings and I love to bake together, and for as long as I can remember we always make these. I made up the recipe by taking two different recipes and combining them for the PERFECT fluffy dough.
Mandy's Yummy Cinnamon Rolls
Dough Ingredients:
Dough Ingredients:
4 large egg yolks
1 large whole egg
1/2c sugar
6Tbs butter, melted
6 oz. buttermilk (warmed)
4c all purpose flour
1 pkg dry yeast or 2 1/2 tsp.
1 1/4 tsp kosher salt
1/2c warm water
Filling Ingredients:
1c brown sugar
1 or 2 Tbsp Cinnamon
1 or 2 Tbsp Cinnamon
1 pinch salt
2 Tbsp melted butter
1 cup chopped pecans (optional)
1 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Frosting Ingredients:
1/4c Cream Cheese
3Tbsp. milk
1 1/2c Powdered Sugar
1 1/2c Powdered Sugar
Directions:
In a small bowl or liquid measure dissolve yeast in warm water and set aside.
In large bowl, mix milk, sugar, melted butter, salt and eggs. Add 2 cups of flour and mix well until smooth.
Add yeast mixture. Mix in remaining flour until dough is easy to handle. Knead dough on lightly floured surface for 10 minutes (or on dough hook in mixer).
Place in well greased bowl, turn to coat with oil and then cover with a clean dish towel and let rise until doubled, about 1 1/2 to 2 hours (make sure your room is warm!) do not punch down.
When doubled in size, turn dough out onto floured surface, and set aside.
Preheat oven to 350F degrees
Mix filling ingredients together and set aside.
Butter a 13x9 inch baking dish and set that aside.
Roll out dough into a large recrangle, about 1/2" to 1/4" thick then brush with melted butter, leaving a 1" border at the top of the dough rectangle.
Gently press in cinnamon mixture (and pecans, if using) and spread evenly across the dough. Time to roll!
Start rolling with the longest edge towards the top 1" border (without the butter). Gently squeeze the roll when you are done to make it even.
Cut into 2" rounds and place in buttered dish, brush with remaining butter and
cover with clean dish cloth.
Let rise for another 45min- hour. BAKE in PREHEATED 350 degree oven for 30 to 40 minutes until lightly golden.
For the frosting, put room temperature cream cheese and milk and sugar in bowl and mix until creamy
Let rolls cool for a few minutes and then frost while warm.
They are wonderful with coffee or tea, I usually start them mid morning and they are ready for afternoon tea. We have so many happy memories visiting together and talking while we make them.
I hope you will enjoy them as well.
