FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Can I use a different type of pasta?

Yes, any different shaped pasta can be used. Just make sure it’s the same quantity. If you’re serving this to kids, they seem to really enjoy macaroni or pasta shells.

Can I change up the cheese?

Sure! I had cheddar and Colby Jack on hand and knew they would go well. You can use whatever cheese you prefer or have on hand. Additionally, you could use all cheddar, or all Colby Jack cheese.

Can I make this in the CrockPot?

I mean, I guess you could, but that seems like a lot of extra work. You’d have to basically cook everything first BEFORE putting it in the slow cooker (including the macaroni). This is one of those recipes that is truly easier to make in the oven. But, if it’s something you really want to do, you’ll cook the ground beef with the onion and seasoning on the stovetop first, drain the grease off. Then add the Manwich sauce, cook and stir for a few minutes. Transfer the beef and sauce to the slow cooker and add in the cooked pasta then stir. Cook for an 1 1/2 hours or so and then put the cheese on the casserole and cook another 30 minutes or until the cheese is melted.

How to store leftovers?

You can keep the leftovers in the fridge for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.

HOW TO MAKE SLOPPY JOE CASSEROLE
