FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Do I have to use almond bark?

No. You can also use candy melts (or wafers) in any color that you’d like. Almond bark can be found in the baking aisle of your grocery store and candy melts can be found either in the baking aisle or your grocery store may have a separate caking decorating aisle and they can be found there.

Do I have to use both chocolate and white almond bark?

No. If you find it easier, you can just use one or the other.

What if I can’t find the peanut butter crackers?

You can make your own. Just buy some Ritz crackers and spread some peanut butter in between the two crackers and proceed with the rest of the recipe.

How do I store leftovers?

These can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature where they will keep for up to 3 days. If you need to stack these while storing, separate with parchment paper so they do not stick together. They can also be frozen. Store in an airtight container or ziploc bag (making sure that you put parchment paper between layers so they don’t stick.) They will keep for up to 3 months in the freezer.

INGREDIENTS NEEDED: (FULL RECIPE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE POST)

  • peanut butter Ritz crackers
  • white almond bark
  • chocolate almond bark
  • mini Reese’s cups
  • Christmas sprinkles
Ingredients needed: Peanut Butter Ritz Crackers, white almond bark, chocolate almond bark, Reese’s Cups Minis and Christmas sprinkles.

HOW TO MAKE RITZ CRACKER CHRISTMAS ORNAMENT COOKIES:

Line a large baking sheet with wax or parchment paper. Set aside. In separate microwave safe bowls, melt the white almond bark and chocolate almond bark according to the package directions: 1 minute at full power, stir and then 30 seconds more until you have reached the desired melted consistency. Make sure not to cook too long or it will harden and start to clump together. Working in small batches, coat a few Ritz peanut butter crackers at a time (about 2-3) and lift them out of the chocolate using a fork.

One cracker being dipped in melted almond bark.

Drain off the excess chocolate back into the bowl and carefully transfer them to the prepared baking sheet. Be careful not to move them around too much or the chocolate will spread.

Next, quickly add the sprinkles to the chocolate coated Ritz crackers before they harden.

Sprinkles being added to the tops of the dipped crackers.

Then dip the wide ends of the Reese’s Cups Minis lightly into the remaining melted chocolate bark and place one on the top of each cracker to create a Christmas ornament look. Continue steps 4-7 until all the crackers are done.

Once you have coated and decorated each Ritz cracker, place the baking sheet into the refrigerator for roughly 10-15 minutes to harden.

Hand adding on the mini Reese's cups to tops of dipped crackers.

Once they are set, remove them from the refrigerator and serve on a platter or in a container.

Ingredients

  • 11 ounce package of Peanut Butter Ritz Crackers (48 Sandwich crackers)
  • 12 ounces white almond bark (½ a package)
  • 12 ounces chocolate almond bark (½ a package)
  • 7.6 ounce package of mini Reese’s Cups
  • Christmas sprinkles

Instructions

  • Line a large baking sheet with wax or parchment paper. Set aside.
  • In separate microwave safe bowls, melt the white almond bark and chocolate almond bark according to the package directions: 1 minute at full power, stir and then 30 seconds more until you have reached the desired melted consistency.
  • Make sure not to cook too long or it will harden and start to clump together.
  • Working in small batches, coat a few Ritz peanut butter crackers at a time (about 2-3) and gently lift them out of the chocolate using a fork. I do one or two in the white chocolate and the same with the regular chocolate. Just use separate forks for each.
  • Drain off the excess chocolate back into the bowl and carefully transfer them to the prepared baking sheet. Be careful not to move them around too much or the chocolate will spread.
  • Next, quickly add the sprinkles to the chocolate coated ritz crackers before they harden.
  • Then dip the wide ends of the Reese’s Cups Minis lightly into the remaining melted chocolate bark and place one on the top of each cracker to create a Christmas ornament look.
  • Continue steps 4-7 until all the crackers are done.
  • Once you have coated and decorated each peanut butter Ritz cracker, place the baking sheet into the refrigerator for roughly 10-15 minutes to harden.
  • Once they are set, remove them from the refrigerator and serve on a platter or in a container.

Notes

  • Any color candy melts can be used in place of almond bark.
  • If you like one almond bark more than the other you can use just one.
  • If you are storing in tins, make sure you stack separated by parchment paper.
