FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Can I use pie crust instead?

I don’t recommend it because pie crust won’t puff up as much to give it the same look, texture and taste.

Do you have to thaw the puff pastry?

Yes. All puff pastry is sold frozen so just follow the back of the package instructions on how to thaw. You do not need to get it to room temperature. You will handle it while still cool – just not frozen.

Can these be made in an air fryer?

I don’t see why not. I haven’t tested it though so I can’t give exact instructions on that. If I were to try, I would guess 360F degrees for maybe 8 minutes but you’ll have to play it by ear.

How do I store leftovers?

Leftovers can be stored in a Ziploc bag or covered container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. They can also be frozen. They need to be protected well against freezer burn. Wrap each one in plastic wrap then aluminum foil then place in a freezer safe Ziploc bag where they will keep for up to 3 months. Reheat in the microwave or oven.
