Frequently Asked Questions:
You can just thicken up the sauce by removing the lid during the last 30 minutes of cooking. If you find that not to be enough, you can mix about 2 Tablespoons of cornstarch with 2 Tablespoons of cold water together to make a slurry and pop that in the Crock Pot then stir and turn on high for 15 minutes. That should thicken it right up.
You sure can. It’s pretty easy since the sausages are already cooked. You’re just using the slow cooker to warm them up and then letting them simmer in the sauce so they can get favorful. To make them on the stovetop, add all then ingredients to a saucepan and let it simmer over low heat for about 20-30 minutes. Be sure to occasionally stir gently so you don’t break the sausages.
Yes. I like to make these a couple hours in advance and then just leave them in the Crock Pot on the warm setting until I’m ready to serve them. Again, be sure to stir them occasionally so the sauce keeps everything coated and nothing burns (some of the crock pots run hot.
You can add crushed red pepper flakes to bring some heat. Go for smokey flavor by adding in some BBQ sauce.
You can store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days in the fridge.

Ingredients Needed: (See Recipe Card Below For The Full Recipe)
- Hillshire Farm Lit’l Smokies– you could also use cocktail sausages. You just want them to be fully cooked.
- cherry cola– yes, you can use a diet cherry cola or other dark soda instead of the cherry coke. I would think Dr Pepper Cherry would be a great idea.
- sweet chili sauce– be sure to grab a sweet chili sauce (not a paid affiliate link) not a regular chili sauce as I feel like that would give you a stronger ketchup flavor rather than the sweet chili sauce flavor. I don’t think it brings too much heat to make this spicy, but, if you really want to use something else, you can use a sweet and sour sauce instead.
- light brown sugar– if you don’t want to use light brown sugar, you can use honey instead.
- ketchup

How To Make Crock POt Cherry Coke Lit’l Smokies
Add Lit’l Smokies to a 4-6 quart slow cooker. Pour in cherry cola, sweet chili sauce, brown sugar and ketchup. Stir to combine. Cover and cook on low for 3–4 hours, stirring once halfway through. Mixture will thicken as it cools (just leave the lid slightly ajar). If you want the glaze to be thicker, combine 2 Tablespoons cornstarch with 2 Tablespoons cold water and mix well. Pour into the slow cooker and gently stir to combine. Cover and turn on high for about 15 minutes or until thickened.

Serve warm.
