FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
For this recipe I used a 5-quart basket air fryer. This is the traditional and most popular style of air fryers sold. If you have a different size or style of air fryer, you will have to cook these based off your own knowledge of your air fryer. There is no way for me to possibly test every air fryer recipe in every style and size that is out there. I also am not familiar with every brand so use your best judgement.
I prefer a regular cut smoked bacon. I think the thicker cut bacon would take much longer to cook and wouldn’t crisp up as much as I would like.
We love Sweet Baby Ray’s original sauce. I can find it pretty much anywhere and it is an all-around good sauce!
If you want to take the spice level up a notch, try adding about 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes to the BBQ sauce mixture. Alternatively, you could add in about a tablespoon of hot sauce.
I doubt you’ll have leftovers but if you do, just store them in a covered container in your refrigerator. They’ll last for about 3 days. Reheat in the microwave or place back in the air fryer to reheat.
INGREDIENTS NEEDED: (FULL RECIPE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE POST)
- Lit’l Smokies cocktail sausages
- bacon
- bbq sauce
- garlic powder
HOW TO MAKE AIR FRYER BACON WRAPPED LIT’L SMOKIES:
Open the Lit’l Smokies package and pat each sausage dry with a paper towel. This will help the bacon stick to it better when they are wrapped.
Cut each piece of bacon into thirds.
Spray the air fryer basket with olive oil nonstick cooking spray. Wrap each of the sausages with one of the cut bacon pieces.
Place wrapped Lit’l ’ Smokies into the air fryer basket with the folded part of the bacon facing down. This will help keep the bacon from unwrapping while cooking. Keep the sausages separated by about an inch. This will allow the air to circulate properly around each one.
In a small bowl, mix together bbq sauce with garlic powder..
Then, using a pastry brush, coat each wrapped Lit’l Smokies with the bbq sauce.
Air fry for 10-12 minutes at 375F degrees (you do not need to preheat the air fryer first.)
Note: You can cook these until the bacon has reached your desired level of crispiness. The thicker the bacon, the longer it may take.
When finished, brush on a little more of the bbq sauce mixture and sprinkle with chopped parsley for color (optional). Serve warm with toothpicks.

Notes

- You can secure these with toothpicks before cooking. Sometimes the bacon can shrink up a little while air frying. This will hold it securely in place.
