FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Yes! If you have a favorite sugar cookie dough recipe you can absolutely use it. Just make sure that it is roughly the same amount as you would get with a larger packaged cookie dough.
No. I like the fluffy texture it gives but you could just purchase a store-bought canned frosting! These days you can buy green colored frosting or you can buy a vanilla frosting and add some green food coloring to it. Or you can make your own homemade buttercream frosting!
I use a pizza cutter but you can use a knife. You can cut into any size portions or shapes that you’d like. Or if it’s just family, we all just tear off the size piece that we want!
Absolutely! Some other ideas would be blueberries, blackberries and raspberries. I try not to use fruits that brown quickly such as apples and bananas.
Yes, you can cut your fruit to any size that you like. Especially if you are serving younger kids I would suggest cutting the fruit up as small as possible. Or sometimes, you just like eating tinier bits of fruit so use your best judgement.
This is best eaten when it is first made as it can get soggy after it is topped. But you can store it in the refrigerator in an airtight container or gently wrapped in plastic wrap where it will keep for up to 2 days. I don’t recommend freezing.

HOW TO MAKE A CHRISTMAS TREE FRUIT PIZZA:
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper, set aside. Open the package of sugar cookie dough and break up the roll into pieces and allow the dough to warm up slightly to make it slightly easier to work with.
Roll the cookie dough into a ball, then sprinkle flour onto the prepared baking sheet and on top of the cookie dough.
Using a rolling pin, roll the cookie dough out flat. Create a triangle shape by using the palms of your hands by patting the outsides of the dough inwards. Create your tree shape by pinching in a section close to the top and then again in the center of the dough. Make sure to work slowly and use more flour as you go or the dough will become too sticky. Make sure the cookie dough is rolled out to about ½-inch thickness, then check that there are no tears in the dough, if there are pinch them back together as well as you can.
Place in the oven and bake for about 18-20 minutes or until set. Remove the cookie from the oven and allow it to cool on the pan completely before carefully transferring it to a wire rack.
While the cookie is cooling, make the whipped cream. In a large bowl with a hand mixer, beat the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Then add the vanilla, powdered sugar and green food coloring and beat until you get stiff peaks.
To frost the cooled cookie, use an offset spatula, spread the whipped cream over the top.
Pat dry the fruit as well as you can to get out as much liquid as possible, then place the fruit on top of the whipped cream in a pattern of your choice.
Slice and enjoy!

- 1 cup mandarin oranges, drained well
- 1 ½ cups heavy cream
- ⅓ cup powdered sugar
- 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon green food coloring
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Line a large baking sheet (10×15-inch) with parchment paper, set aside.
- Open the package of sugar cookie dough and break up the roll into pieces and allow the dough to warm up slightly to make it easier to work with.
- Roll the cookie dough into a ball, then sprinkle flour onto the prepared baking sheet and on top of the cookie dough.
- Using a rolling pin, roll the cookie dough out flat. Create a triangle shape by using your hands and gently pushing the outsides of the dough inwards. Notes
- You can make your own homemade sugar cookie dough.
- Other fruits can be used. Try not to use ones that brown quickly.
- Other frostings can be used such as a cream cheese or buttercream. Store bought frostings also work well here.
- Do not over bake or the cookie will be too hard.
- You want to look for the larger tube of sugar cookie dough. The packages come in 16.5 ounces and 30 ounces. Look for the 30 ounce package. If you can’t find it, just buy two of the 16.5 ounce rolls. It will still work.
