A TASTY COPYCAT CHICKEN RECIPE
One of my absolute favorite fast food sandwiches is the Chick-fil-A Grilled Chicken Club Sandwich. I enjoy making copycat recipes at home. Especially on Sundays when I can’t get my Chick-fil-A fix! I actually think this recipe might just be better than the original. I may be biased but seriously this sandwich is so, so good that you are going to want to make them all summer long. Topped with bacon, lettuce, tomatoes and the delicious homemade honey roasted bbq sauce, you really just cannot get any better!
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
For this sandwich, Chick-fil-A offers pepper jack or colby jack so you can take your pick. If you want a little spice add the pepper jack, if you want it mild, go with the colby jack.
While this is true to the original recipe, you can use whatever buns that you’d like. Just make sure that they are sturdy enough to hold all that this sandwich offers.
If you want to keep to the original version you will want to use the honey roasted bbq sauce. This is a simple recipe to whip up and goes great with a lot of other things. If you do not want to use it, you can top this with any of your favorite condiments.
I know thick cut chicken breasts aren’t always easy to find. Or sometimes they end up being too thin. So use your best judgement.
The chicken marinade is what really makes this sandwich. It is the most flavorful, juicy chicken and It is all balanced out with the toppings and the amazing flavor of the bbq sauce.
Your chicken will be done when an internal thermometer reaches 165F degrees at the thickest part.
These can be stored unassembled in the refrigerator for up to 3 days in airtight containers. The chicken can also be frozen. Place in a freezer container where it will keep for up to 3 months. To defrost, remove from the freezer and place in the refrigerator overnight until thawed. Rewarm in the microwave or oven – just until heated, otherwise it can dry out. You can also serve them cold for a cold version of the sandwich.

Add the chicken to the marinade and coat the chicken. Cover with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, up to 4 hours (the longer the better.)

To assemble, remove the tops off the buns, add lettuce and a tomato slice on the bottom half. Add a piece of chicken followed by a slice of cheese and bacon (broken in half so it fits.) Spread the honey roasted bbq sauce on the bottom side of the top bun. Place the bun on top and enjoy
