Now we have Buffalo Chicken Texas Toast! You can pop the chicken into the slow cooker and let it’s do its thing. Then all you have to do is pile it onto some of the garlic texas toast with some cheese and dinner is served! It’s not just super simple to toss together, it’s so yummy and great for a weeknight dinner!

Made this for my wife and kids and it was a huge hit with everyone. It was so easy to make and had great flavor!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
You can’t go wrong with a good ole side salad and some steamed veggies when serving this Buffalo Chicken Toast. I love the microwavable steamed broccoli for things like this.
I think if you have a digital crock pot, you could put this on before work and cook it for the 4-6 hours then allow the crock pot to switch to a warm setting until you get home to finish it. Digital crock pots are the best friend of those of us with full time jobs but want to come home to a nice meal!
You could skip the cream cheese if you don’t like it. Or after the chicken is finished cooking and you take it out, you could stir in a bit of sour cream to add a bit of creaminess to the dish.
Sure, I think you could just cook the chicken (boil, roast, or air fry) and coat it in the buffalo sauce and melted cream cheese then continue with the recipe.
I think this would be great with frozen prepared popcorn chicken. Air fry or bake popcorn chicken then coat with the buffalo sauce and continue with the recipe as written. Additionally, you can use tenderloins and thin-cut chicken breasts. This will result in a shorter cooking time. Lots of ways to play with this recipe to change it up!
You can keep this in the fridge for up to 5 days, but I like to eat this immediately so the garlic bread stays crispy.

INGREDIENTS NEEDED: (SEE RECIPE CARD BELOW FOR THE FULL RECIPE)
- boneless skinless chicken breasts – you can use chicken thighs.
- bottle buffalo wing sauce– I like Frank’s Hot Sauce, but any brand will do.
- cream cheese – I find using softened cream cheese can help it mix together easier. These Tips for Softening Cream Cheese can be helpful.
- Frozen Garlic Texas Toast – use your favorite brand here. I prefer Cole’s Garlic Texas Toast (not a paid affiliate link) when I can get my hands on it. A lot of garlic Texas toast is getting thinner. They used to be nice thick cuts but I find that shrinkflation is causing some brands to make them thinner (but so far, Cole’s is still thick.)
- shredded cheddar cheese – you can use whatever cheese you like. Some folks like blue cheese with buffalo chicken (I am not a fan but go for what you like).
- sliced green onions – this is optional but does add a nice pop of color and light onion flavor.

HOW TO MAKE BUFFALO CHICKEN GARLIC TEXAS TOAST:
To the crock pot add the chicken. Top the chicken with the buffalo sauce and cubed cream cheese. Cook on low for 4 to 6 hours on low or on high for 2 to 3 hours.

Preheat the oven to 425° F. Remove the chicken from the crockpot and whisk together the sauce until all the cream cheese has mixed in with the buffalo sauce. Chop the chicken into bite-sized pieces. Transfer the chicken back into the crockpot. Mix until mixed throughout the sauce so the chicken gets heated through. Set aside.

Place the frozen garlic Texas toast on a large baking sheet. Bake the garlic Texas toast for 5 minutes per side.

Place the buffalo chicken on top of each of the slices of the garlic Texas toast. Add the shredded cheddar cheese evenly to the top of the chicken. Place in the oven and bake for about 3 minutes or until the cheese is melted.

Remove from the oven and top with the sliced green onions.

Buffalo Chicken Garlic Texas Toasts
Ingredients
- 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts (about 3 large chicken breasts)
- 12 ounce bottle buffalo wing sauce (I like Frank’s)
- 4 ounces (½ block) cream cheese, cubed
- 11.25 ounce box (8 slices) frozen garlic Texas Toast
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ⅛ cup sliced green onions
Instructions
- To a 5-6 quart crock pot add 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts.
- Top the chicken with 12 ounce bottle buffalo wing sauce and 4 ounces (½ block) cream cheese, cubed.

- Cover and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours or on high for 2 to 3 hours.

- When chicken is ready, start preheating the oven to 425° F.
- Remove the chicken from the crockpot and whisk together the sauce until all the cream cheese has mixed in with the buffalo sauce. Chop the chicken into bite-sized pieces.

- Transfer the chicken back into the crock pot. Mix until mixed throughout the sauce so the chicken gets heated through. Set aside.

- Place the 11.25 ounce box (8 slices) frozen garlic Texas Toast on a large baking sheet. Bake the garlic Texas toast for about 4 minutes per side.

- Remove the Texas toast from the oven and place the buffalo chicken on top of each of the slices of the garlic Texas toast. Note: You can take the back of a spoon and gently press down into the center of each piece of Texas toast. This will help you to be able to stack more chicken on top.

- Add the shredded cheddar cheese evenly to the top of the chicken on each piece of toast.

- Place in the oven and bake for about 3 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
- Remove from the oven and top with 1/8 cup sliced green onions.

Mmmmmmmmmmmm, great idea – this one’s going into my Game Day file!
Come to think of it, why not be a total piggy and top the toast with some cheddar, pile on the chicken, then top with blue cheese before baking? I’m laughing but I WILL do this…
Ha! Yes!! Love that idea!
