My name is Brandie and I grew up as a Navy brat and then eventually I married a Navy man. My husband is out of the military now and we proudly call Virginia our home.
I'm a wife and a Momma and all things in between. When I was a kid, I loved to put together food. I can remember the first thing I ever learned to cook was a fried egg. Then I moved up to crepes filled with grape jelly. At the age of 12, I thought that was very gourmet apparently. I got busy with work and life and for years I didn't cook much at all. Then when my son was born, I was able to stay at home with him for a couple of years and I began to reacquaint myself with my kitchen and my love of cooking. I remembered all those things I loved about feeding the people I love.
I'm a regular homecook like most of you, doing my best to get a good meal on the table for my family. I like to say the recipes on here are country cookin' for today's busy cook. You can still get a good meal on the table, with a few shortcuts to help you along the way. I hope you'll find lots of recipes here that you'll love and hopefully will become family favorites.
