AN AIR FRYER (OR STOVETOP!) SHRIMP RECIPE
I am going to show you how to make this delicious Bang Bang Shrimp recipe two different ways depending on what you enjoy. I will show you how to fry it in oil and how to air fry it.

TIPS FOR MAKING AIR FRYER SHRIMP
- To make the bang bang sauce, you’ll need to purchase sweet chili sauce. There are several brands of sweet chili sauce but I enjoy the Blue Dragon brand the most. Thai sweet chili sauce is a bit sweet, a bit tangy and a bit spicy.
- If you’ve never used sriracha sauce before, it’s basically an Asian hot sauce. You can use as little or as much as you like depending on how spicy you enjoy your shrimp sauce.

INGREDIENTS NEEDED: (FULL RECIPE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE POST)
- buttermilk (divided use)
- fresh shrimp (peeled and deveined)
- all-purpose flour
- panko bread crumbs
- black pepper
- sriracha sauce
- mayo
- sweet chili sauce
HOW TO MAKE AIR FRYER BANG BANG SHRIMP:
Let shrimp soak in half a cup of buttermilk for at least 4 hours before cooking. Create a station for breading the shrimp. Put flour and pepper in one bowl, half a cup of buttermilk in another, and panko bread crumbs in the last bowl. Dip shrimp in flour. Then, dip in buttermilk. Then finally dip in panko bread crumbs until evenly coated.

TO MAKE IN AN AIR FRYER:
Spray air fryer basket with non-stick cooking spray. Place shrimp in basket and spray shrimp with cooking spray.

Set to 390F degrees for 5 minutes. Flip, spray with cooking spray and cook for 5 more minutes.

TO FRY ON THE STOVETOP:
Add 2” of canola oil to a sauce pan and heat to 350F degrees. Once oil reaches temperature, carefully add shrimp and cook for 3 minutes per side.

Create bang bang sauce by mixing sriracha, mayo, and sweet chili sauce. Gently toss shrimp in sauce. Garnish with cilantro and enjoy!
