A FAST 3-INGREDIENT TREAT

These Hershey Kiss Pretzels are a fun little treat to make. Your kids can help you and they really can’t make much of a mess with this recipe, except for maybe some chocolatey M&M fingers as they sample the goods. It comes together so quickly which we all know is great when you want to make something sweet and special but don’t have a lot of time!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Can I use a different type of Hershey Kiss?

You can use any kind of chocolate you want on these. We really like the white chocolate Hugs but you can use Hershey’s kisses. For different holidays they tend to offer holiday themed, or limited edition Hershey Kisses, you can swap them out for different times of the year. You could also swap out the flavors of these. Regular milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate, etc can all be used interchangeably.
Just know that some types of chocolates melt at different rates!

Can I use different flavored M&M’s?

Certainly! I used classic milk chocolate M&M’s because that’s what I had on hand, but you can do themed M&M’s if you have them, you can use different flavored M&M’s too- like peanut M&M’s, caramel M&M’s, peanut butter M&M’s, mini M&M’s or even pretzel M&M’s. If you have a variety that you enjoy and think would be good with the rest of this treat, feel free to try it.

Do I have to use Hershey Kisses?

To keep them true to their name yes, but, you can make a different type of snack or dessert when changing it out. Try topping it with a Rolo chocolate caramel candy for a Rolo Pretzel Turtle.
Additionally, you could try topping it with a piece of pecan to make it like a chocolate turtle.

How long do Hershey Kiss Pretzels last?

If you don’t manage to eat them all beforehand, like me and my family, these should last up to a week if stored properly.

Why did my chocolate turn colors?

When your chocolate starts to turn colors, this typically happens if it gets too humid or is a lower quality chocolate. The process of turning a different color is called “blooming”. This can happen after a few days once you’ve made them. Honestly, we don’t have that problem, because they just don’t last that long in our house. They just get devoured in no time.

Can I give these as a gift?

YES! I think that is a swell idea. Once they’ve set and you’re finished with them, you can store them in an airtight container or glass mason jar. You can tie a cute ribbon around the jar and maybe attach a little sweet note or card to the ribbon. I’d also make sure to tell your gift recipient how long they will last depending on when you made them and then gave them to the person.

How to store leftover treats?

Any leftovers should be kept in an airtight container at room temp for up to a week. Keep in mind the temp of the room, if it gets a little hot, chocolate can melt or change texture, so storing in the fridge may be necessary, though not ideal, at least temporarily if needed. I’d also recommend to keep these out of direct sunlight.

Should I store these in the fridge?

If at all possible, I wouldn’t I would keep these at room temp. The fridge can dry out the pretzels, or make them go stale faster. There’s also chance they could get soggy if stored long term in there. Only pop them in the fridge briefly if you’re afraid they could get too warm in the room, otherwise, keep them at room temp.

Now I know that he takes these pretty seriously! 😉
