LIKE A CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRY

These cookies are always a hit! With the help of a box cake mix, you can have these ready in hardly any time at all. One more reason why I love using cake mixes in recipes.

These cookies have a perfect strawberry flavor with lots of milk chocolate chips in every bite. Not only are they tasty, but really pretty. Great for parties and holidays! The best part about these delicious things is their soft and chewy texture. It gets me every time I eat one. Or five. 😉

  1. I wonder how a carrot cake mix with white chocolate chips would turn out. I’m always looking for fast easy cookie recipes.

  2. I made these just as the recipe calls for and my dough was really, really sticky? I looked on line and they said the cure would be to chill the dough first. I guess I did use a substitute of sunflower oil and virgin olive oil mix instead of the vegetable oil. Do you think that’s why they might have been sticky? I also used instead of chocolate chips, I used some espresso chips. they turned out great otherwise. Its funny that I had bought a strawberry cake mix just to make strawberry chocolate chip cake mix cookies!! And then I found your recipe. Thanks.

  3. Wow! These are great. My husband is a chocoholic, I like strawberries. These cookies made us both very happy.

  4. Upon request; I will be making these for a baby shower. The baby girl will be born first part of May (will be our 4th great grand baby.)
    Thank You

Hello, could you add the size box to use? I had a comedy of errors with this recipe. Used too small a box. Added the frosting in as well. When it was too liquidy I tried to make mini muffins out of it and they made a mess. Tasty but looks utterly wrecked.

I can’t find the right size box of mix. I can only find 15.25. Will this change any of the other ingredient amounts?

      1. My oven bakes a little slow. How can I tell when they are done? I baked for 12 minutes just in case.

  8. Hi! This sounds and looks yummo! How long does it last on the shelf? I want to make it for school for valentines day… will it still be ok if I make it this weekend for next Friday?

    1. Put them in the freezer until then.. Take them from the freezer to your event. I do this all the time. Keeps cookies fresh.

  9. I made this recipe last night but changed it up a bit. A box of family size brownie mix, two eggs, 1/4 cup oil and two tablespoons of instant coffee. Mix well. Drop 1 tsp size on Reynolds no stick and bake at 350 for 12 minutes. I then cool them, add some cream cheese frosting and chocolate chips and make mini sandwiches out of them. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and instant deliciousness!!

  10. Yay! I had a student bring these cookies to school for her birthday and they were delicious! How funny that I stumbled upon them on your blog. I can't wait to try them! Love your blog! 🙂

  11. The combinations are endless.I have been making these for years. They are perfect when my son forgets to tell me he needs bake sale items for school. A few of my family's favorite pairings are a chocolate cake mix with semisweet chips, a yellow cake mix with Heath chips, and the Funfetti mix with chocolate chips. I hope everyone tries these!
