FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

What should I serve with this dip?

You can use any of your favorite sweet snacks to dip into this funfetti dip. Try Nilla wafers, graham crackers, animal crackers, fresh fruit, cookies, and more.

Can I use a different cake mix?

Certainly! I think a vanilla cake mix, funfetti or a yellow cake mix would also be tasty in this kind of recipe.

Do I have to use the shredded coconut?

The sweetened shredded coconut gives the dip a texture that looks similar to bunny fur. It’s also delicious in the dip but if you don’t like shredded coconut you can omit it but you’ll definitely miss out on the cuteness factor.

Do I need to heat treat cake mix?

If you are concerned about eating raw flour because of salmonella concerns, it’s easy to heat treat the cake mix. Spread cake mix on a baking sheet and cook at 350F for 5 minutes. Cake mix should reach a temperature of 165F degrees.

How to store leftovers?

This Bunny Butt Dip is best served the day that you make it. But you can keep leftovers for about a day, although the texture will most likely change. You should cover it and keep it in the refrigerator when not serving it because it has perishable ingredients.

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the mixture for about an hour. When ready, separate the mixture into one large ball (for the bunny body), two medium size balls (for the back bunny paws) and one small ball (for the bunny tail).

Form the 2 medium balls into a slight triangle shape. Roll all of the balls into the shredded coconut  – making sure to gently press it into them so it sticks.

To assemble the bunny: attach the medium, triangle shaped balls onto the large ball. Press the pink M&M’s into the bottom of the paws (about 3 on each paw.) Then press the smaller ball onto the back of the big balls to make the bunny tail.
