14ouncepackage Oreo cookies(regular, not Double Stuft)
8ounceblock cream cheese, softened to room temperature
¾teaspoonpeppermint extract
2cupswhite melting wafers
¼cupcrushed candy canes
Instructions
Crush the Oreo cookies in a food processor or with a rolling pin in a ziploc bag until they become fine crumbs.
In a large mixing bowl, mix the crushed cookies with the softened cream cheese and peppermint extract until well combined.
Line a baking sheet (choose a size that will fit in your freezer) with parchment paper and use a cookie scoop to form small balls. You may need to roll them in your hand for a minute to get them perfectly round.
Place all the balls onto the parchment paper.
Put the baking sheet into the freezer and freeze for 30 minutes.
In a separate bowl, melt the white chocolate melting chips for 1-2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until fully melted through. It is best to go buy the directions on the back of the package as some may have slightly different heating times.
Remove the frozen cookie balls from the freezer. Using a fork, dip the cookie balls into the melted chocolate, and gently shake off any excess. Place back onto the parchment paper.
Garnish the tops with crushed candy canes while still wet.
Place the peppermint cookie balls into the refrigerator to chill for at least 15 minutes to set the coating before serving, enjoy!
