How To Make Buttermilk

With just two ingredients, you can make homemade buttermilk for any recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole milk (or milk of your choice - not tested with milk alternatives)
  • 1 Tablespoon white vinegar (or lemon juice, fresh squeezed)

Instructions

  • Place the milk into a medium bowl.

  • Add the vinegar or lemon juice and stir it in.
  • Allow to sit at room temperature for 10 minutes.

  • The mixture will appear curdled, which is normal, and you can proceed with your recipe.

  • This recipe makes 1 cup and 1 Tablespoon of Homemade Buttermilk. Depending on what your recipe calls for will determine how many serving this makes.
