2 ½poundsGranny Smith apples, peeled and cored, cut into 1/2 inch slices
½cupapple juice
1 ½Tablespoonscornstarch
Instructions
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 4 Tablespoons salted butter.
Add 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed, 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon and a pinch of nutmeg and stir constantly until the sugar is melted.
Add 2 1/2 pounds Granny Smith apples, peeled and cored, cut into 1/2 inch slices and coat in the sugar mixture.
Cook, stirring occasionally until the apples are fork tender, 10-15 minutes.
In a small bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup apple juice and 1 1/2 Tablespoons cornstarch.
Pour the apple juice mixture while stirring constantly.
Continue to cook for 1-2 minutes until thickened and serve. If you are serving these as a dessert, you can serve with ice cream.
