In a medium bowl, combine all marinade ingredients, mix well and set aside.
Place the chicken in an 11 x 7-inch baking dish with onions. Marinate and massage for 5 minutes. Cover with aluminium foil or plastic wrap. Leave overnight in the refrigerator.
Preheat the oven to 375F degrees. Remove aluminium foil or plastic wrap and place the baking dish in the middle of the oven for 40 - 45 minutes.
Chicken must be nicely brown and internal temperature should be 155F degrees. Leave a bit longer if you want some crispiness on top.
Remove from the oven, garnish with chives and sesame seeds. Serve with the juice from the dish and your favorite side dish.

You can add some of your favorite chopped vegetables to this dish if you'd like to make if more of a meal-in-one.
