For the strawberries:

For the filling:
In a large bowl combine the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and the melted strawberry preserves; beat with an electric mixer on medium speed until blended and smooth.
Stir in one cup of the whipped dessert topping. Set aside.
Place ladyfingers in a small bowl and drizzle with orange juice.

In another bowl whisk together the rest of the whipped topping with strawberry extract. Set aside.
To assemble:
Spread half the cream cheese filling into the bottom of a 9x9 or 11x7 baking dish.
Follow with an even layer of half the lady fingers. Break them up as needed to make them fit.

Spread the rest of the cream cheese filling evenly on top of the strawberry layer.
Next, spread half the strawberry-flavored whipped topping on top of the cream cheese layer.
Evenly layer the rest of the lady fingers on top of the Cool Whip.

Notes
You can use blueberries, raspberries or blackberries if you prefer. I think this just might become your new favorite dessert. I know it has become mine! Just make sure you take the recipe with you when you take this dessert with you to a BBQ. Everyone is going to want the recipe!
The orange juice not only adds flavor to the ladyfingers but it helps to soften the cookies a bit. It doesn't need to be fresh squeezed unless that is your preference. If you don't want to use orange juice, you could use milk or even a vanilla flavored coffee creamer.
The reason for warming up the strawberry preserves is to make it thinner and easier to stir into the cream cheese mixture.
If you enjoy and are able to find mascarpone cheese, you can use that instead of cream cheese in this recipe.
This dessert needs to be kept refrigerated.
The tiramisu should last about 2-3 days if stored covered in the refrigerator.
Two (8 ounce) tubs of Cool Whip an be used instead of one large (16 ounce) tub. Cool Whip comes frozen so just make sure you give it time to thaw in the refrigerator before using.
I don't recommend freezing this dessert as the texture will be compromised when you go to defrost it when ready to eat.
