There's nothing quite like biting into a fresh made donut with a yummy glaze! Make a batch of buttery Air Fryer Biscuit Donuts with this insanely easy recipe!
Separate the biscuits and place them on a clean work surface. Using a 1-inch to 1 & ½ inch round cookie cutter, cut out holes in the center of the biscuits.
Spray the air fryer tray with olive oil spray. Place a few of the donuts into the basket, not touching. You will have to cook them in batches. Air fry for about 5 minutes, flipping halfway through until golden brown.
Take the doughnuts out and let them cool on a wired rack.
While they are cooling, make the glazes. For the vanilla glaze, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth in a medium-sized shallow bowl. You want the glaze very thick yet pourable.
For the chocolate glaze, whisk together the powdered sugar, cocoa powder, milk, and vanilla until smooth in a medium-sized shallow bowl. Again, you want this glaze very thick yet pourable.
Dip the top of one of the donuts into the glaze and allow the excess to drip off. Place it back on the wired rack, glaze side up. Immediately add sprinkles if using, so they will stick. Repeat with the remaining doughnuts.
OPTIONAL: If you want to make the donut holes with the leftover dough, be sure the air fryer is preheated and cook the hole for 3-4 minutes, flipping halfway through until golden brown. Add frosting if desired, serve, and enjoy.
Notes
Instead of making a glaze or frosting, you can just toss the donuts with powdered sugar. Or, brush the donuts with melted butter while still warm, and then toss them in cinnamon sugar.
These are best eaten on the same day. Air frying tends to dry out bread, so you if have any leftovers, I suggest heating them slightly in the microwave for 7-8 seconds to soften them.
Olive oil spray is used in the basket because it does not tend to gunk up the air fryer itself like other oils might.
Keep leftovers for up to 2 days. Freeze for up to 3 months.
If you don't have a biscuit cutter small enough, just use something of a similar size like a shot glass or just free-hand it with a knife.
