This Air Fryer Whole Roasted Chicken is the perfect family dinner for any night of the week! No need to turn on the oven for a perfect roasted chicken!
In a small bowl, mix sea salt, garlic powder, paprika, black pepper, onion powder, and marjoram.
Remove the innards from the cavity of the chicken and discard.
Pat chicken dry and rub the seasonings thoroughly onto the chicken.
Stuff the chicken with garlic cloves, thyme, lemon, and yellow onion. This flavors the meat from the inside out.
Use butchers twine to tie the drumsticks together.
Preheat the air fryer to 390 degrees for 5 minutes. Spray the air fryer basket with non-stick cooking spray and place the chicken inside. Cook for 30 minutes. Flip the chicken over, and cook for an additional 25 minutes.
Let the chicken rest for 10 minutes. Use a meat thermometer and test to be sure the chicken has reached 165 degrees F.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
Use your favorite seasonings for this if you do not like what we use.
Potatoes shown as a side were microwaved baby gold potatoes. Pierce potatoes with a fork. Place potatoes in a microwave-safe dish and cover with saran wrap. Cook in the microwave for about 6 minutes (check at the 4 minute mark) then toss in ½ stick (¼ cup) melted salted butter and a ¼ teaspoon each of garlic powder, onion powder and Italian seasoning.
This can be frozen, see above on how to do that.
Make sure that you turn your chicken about halfway through cooking.
Your chicken is done when the internal temperature is 165 degrees F.
