I am so thankful that Holly from Life in the Lofthouse is here today to share a recipe with y’all. I haven’t had a second to cook this weekend so I was so happy when Holly offered to share something on the blog today. AND, we also decided that Holly would be a regular guest blogger on here! So you will be seeing her recipes at least twice a month here on The Country Cook. Holly is also a recipe contributor for Pillsbury! She recently shared a fun recipe for Pizza Waffles over there. Mmmmm! I can promise you that if you enjoy my recipes, that you will love Holly’s just as much. Some of you might remember when Holly shared her Strawberry Chicken Salad on here a few years back. It is one of my favorite recipes of hers. So now, I’ll turn the mike over to Holly and let her introduce this recipe that is sure to become a new favorite of many! I know my family does!
Hi everyone! My name is Holly Lofthouse and I’m beyond excited to be here today on The Country Cook! You’ll actually be seeing me a couple times a month as a guest blogger. I’m looking forward to sharing with you all some of my very favorite recipes!
I have my own food blog, called Life in the Lofthouse. I’ve been blogging for 3 1/2 years now and have known Brandie almost my entire blogging career. Brandie and I share many things in common, but I think the biggest one is that we enjoy good food! Especially, food that is easy to prepare and family-friendly. I’m a mother to 3 gorgeous kids, and have one amazing husband. I recently quit my job of 7 years, to blog and be home with my kids. I’m still trying to get used to the fact that I get to earn a living, doing what I love, from the comfort of my own home. It is such a huge blessing and I’m so grateful! Cooking, baking and blogging are my sincerest passions, and I think you’ll see that with every recipe I share. Now that I do work from home, I am still very busy with my family of 5 (I know all you stay-at-home Moms can agree!)
So I’m all about EASY and YUMMY recipes. I need family-friendly meals on my dinner table quickly. The first recipe I’m sharing is one of my family’s favorites! It’s called Snickers Caramel Apple Salad, and it is delicious! Chopped Snickers bars and apples are draped in a pudding and cool whip mixture. Then it’s topped off with caramel sauce! It’s So good! It’s one of those desserts you’ll take to a picnic or potluck and everyone will be asking you for the recipe. The other great things about it, is that it’s easy to prepare, and only has a handful of ingredients.

1 (16 ounce) container Cool Whip, thawed
3-4 medium golden delicious apples, chopped in bite-size pieces
5 Snickers candy bars, chopped in bite-size pieces
1/2 cup caramel sauce
In a large bowl, stir together the vanilla pudding mix and milk with a whisk. Fold in the cool whip, with a spatula, until thoroughly combined. Stir in the chopped apples and snickers candy bars. Drizzle the top with caramel sauce. Cover, and chill salad in the fridge 1 hour before serving.
