Presbyterian Punch (Sherbet Punch)

Presbyterian Punch is the best party punch go-to recipe. Sherbet, lemon-lime soda, orange juice, pineapple juice and frozen limeade!

SHERBET PARTY PUNCH

Don’t ask me how these recipes get their names. But if you ask any southern Grandma – she’ll know exactly what you are talking about when you mention ‘Presbyterian Punch’. I assume it got its name from being served at any and all church functions. As a Presbyterian myself, I’m happy to lay claim to the name but this is a standard sherbet punch that has been served for decades by more than just us Presbies.

PRESBYTERIAN PUNCH

This is hands-down my favorite punch ever. Probably because it is so strongly attached to my youth. Of course, you can’t go wrong with Holiday Party Punch, Ocean Water Punch and my Sparkling Strawberry Punch! If I see those scoops of sherbet floating in a huge punch bowl, I am making a bee line straight to it. I love it. And I can’t get enough. One little punch glass is never enough for me.

Our family has made a version of this for years also. Just about every occasion! I have had trouble finding raspberry sherbert since Christmas last year and it seems that is the color I am always needing! Love this punch.

  2. Sherbet punches are always so pretty and tasty! We’ve been having punches at parties again lately and everyone has been loving them! Yours looks delicious, not surprisingly!

  3. We didn’t call it Presbyterian punch but this punch was served at every Brownie and Girl Scout event in my youth. If you can’t find Rainbow sherbet just buy a couple of different flavors.

  4. Lol…this should be called childbirth inducing punch! I was at a friend’s Tupperware party & had 5 days before my due date. Another girl was there thst was 2 weeks past her due date. It was a first baby for each of us. This punch was served. We guzzled this stuff that evening, and the next afternoon we both gave birth!

  5. I’ve never seen this punch before…but I’m up in the north so that’s maybe why! This looks SO good. I need to make this for the next family get together we have!

  6. Is anyone else having trouble finding rainbow sherbet beside me. I would love to try this punch but I am having trouble finding rainbow sherbet.

  7. I use one we call reception punch! White grape juice and ginger ale equal parts! The best ever because not to sweet to drink with wedding cake! But have used lime sherbert and ginger ale also!

  8. Yes, we have a punch we all call Janelle’s punch. You just mix equal portions of chilled white grape juice and Sprite or 7 Up. It is so good and quench’s your thirst. We serve it at Eastern Star meetings, and all kinds of showers!
