Mini Cinnamon Roll Waffles (+Video)

Mini Cinnamon Roll Waffles are made with refrigerated cinnamon rolls, a waffle maker and icing. So easy and fun for breakfast or dessert!

A FUN WAY TO USE YOUR WAFFLEMAKER

I should say, right off the bat, that this isn’t really a recipe. It’s more of an idea or a technique so to speak. These aren’t technically waffles in the traditional sense. They are cinnamon rolls made into the shape of waffles. It’s a fun little twist to the usual cinnamon roll. You get a nice, slightly crispy exterior and a soft fluffy interior to these “waffles.”

TIPS FOR MAKING THESE EASY “WAFFLES”

  • Don’t let your waffle maker get too hot or else you will have a burnt outside while the inside of the cinnamon roll is still raw.
  • Even if your waffle maker is “nonstick” you will still want to spray the grates with nonstick cooking spray.
  • This works with any type of refrigerated cinnamon rolls. If you purchase “jumbo” cinnamon rolls, you may only to be able to do one or two at a time. Just don’t overfill the waffle maker.

INGREDIENTS NEEDED: (FULL HOW-TO RECIPE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE POST)

  • nonstick cooking spray
  • refrigerated cinnamon rolls
  • a waffle maker
tube of cinnamon rolls with a Cuisinart waffle maker.

HOW TO MAKE CINNAMON ROLL WAFFLES:

Preheat your waffle maker. I set mine on a lower temperature since my waffle iron tends to run a bit hot. You don’t want your cinnamon rolls to be burnt on the outside and raw on the inside. So it’s important the waffle maker not be too hot. Spray waffle maker with nonstick cooking spray (top & bottom).

Place 2-3 cinnamon rolls onto the grates. You want them close to the middle so they don’t squirt out the sides.

Close lid and gently press down while it cooks. Don’t press too hard. Just press down gently so that both sides will cook evenly. Cooking times will vary depending on your waffle iron. It took about 2 minutes in mine. Just keep an eye on it as it cooks.

  1. Hi, these look so easy and effortless, I wish we , in the bottom part of the world, could get so many items in tins! It amazes me just how much you can buy in Tins! Does anyone ever have a garden? I mean pumpkin in a Tin? We grow ours or go and purchase one at the Supermarkets.
When it comes to cooking though, things in tins just make cooking sooo much easier. Am jealous! Some of the recipes on the web are delicious and amazing. Keep up the great listings, always something to love. ????

    1. Hi Valerie! Of course folks have gardens here – ha! These are merely convenience items for busy folks. I’m so sorry for you that you can’t get these where you live. I lived in England for three years and could never find cake mix. They sell it now though. So maybe you’ll see these items in your grocery store soon!

  2. I can hardly stand the wait! I bought a tube of cinnamon rolls tonight and may make these when I'm by myself so I can enjoy every one of them. =) Thanks for sharing this AWESOME recipe!

  3. This did get me to thinking – if you added some brown sugar and some cinnamon to your waffle recipe and then put a confectioner sugar icing on top – you COULD make cinnamon roll waffles. 😀

  4. I just love using my waffle iron for biscuits – I will try this Sunday! We always have those cinnamon rolls on Sunday mornings (I'm pretty sure I've done that for about 25 years now) but in the summer it's too hot to heat up the oven – This is perfect! Thanks!

  5. What a great idea, thanks for sharing Brandie, the kids are going to LOVE these!
