Kidney stones suck…big time
I totally did not get around to a Meal Plan last Sunday. It has been a week of ups and downs. After (what we thought) was just a bladder infection was also kidney stones. Several kidney stones. Went to the local Emergency Room and waited for 7 hours and was never seen. My doctor couldn’t get me in that day and the doctor at the walk-in clinic wouldn’t give me any medication without an ultrasound (which she, of course, could not order.) Called my doctor’s office back and they said I would need a CT Scan and not an ultrasound. But my insurance wouldn’t pay for it. SO, I was told to go to the ER and they could order a CT Scan and my insurance would cover it in that instance. It’s like a cycle of ridiculousness! So, after 7 hours, in pain at the ER, with no chance of being seen anytime soon, I decided to leave and deal with the pain in the comfort of my own home. Apparently the flu is rampant around here and the emergency room was overwhelmed. I’ve dealt with kidney stones since I was 16. It doesn’t make it any easier to deal with the pain though. It’s amazing how bad the pain can be while you’re going through it, then when they pass, the pain vanishes just as quickly and you just want to jump for joy!

So, needless to say, I had a difficult time getting much done. When the pain would go away, I would work my butt off. Then another stone would rear its ugly head and it would slow me down again. I’m sure I took way too much Motrin and my liver will suffer later. 😉 BUT, I am better today and pray that is the last of the kidney stones! And the good news is, I was able to figure out a meal plan for this week. I hope it will be helpful to you too!
