Easy Fruit Dip (+Video)

This easy, creamy Fruit Dip works with any fruit: strawberries, pineapple, cantaloupe, watermelon – you name it!

THE PERFECT COMPLEMENT TO FRESH FRUIT

This recipe has been around for ages. I was reminded of it when we recently went strawberry picking and the recipe came printed in a little coloring book they gave our son. The ingredients are easy to remember which I love. The creamy flavor of this dip doesn’t overtake the flavor of the piece of fruit you’re dipping, it just adds a sweet creaminess to it.

TIPS TO MAKE THIS FRUIT DIP:

  • The touch of citrus in this recipe is optional. You can change the flavor by the type of citrus you add, lemon, lime, Meyer lemon and orange juice all work really well with this recipe.
  • Instead of citrus, you can add different flavor extracts as well. Vanilla extract, maple extract, lemon extract, strawberry extract, etc. all will work with this recipe.

  1. 5 stars
I make this all the time! A real family favorite 🙂 After I mix the ingredients together (I don’t use the lemon juice), I will take a couple of the ripe strawberries and mash them in to the dip to give it a pretty pink color…
P.S. I am new to your blog, and I LOVE all your recipes. I have lost count how many I have tried, but they are all great for the family to enjoy (especially with younger kids!)

  2. My sister taught me this recipe years ago. She always put a handful of maraschino cherries in it in a mixer and ran it until the cherries were little red bits through out. We use it around the holidays with many fruits.

  3. I have made this dip for a long time and it is great with fruit. The only modification I make is adding a 1/2 teaspoon of Almond Extract. I also have made it with vanilla extract.

  4. What size jar of marshmallow creme do you use? It comes in two sizes. I don't have any jars on hand to refer to, but I believe the sizes are 7-ounce and 13-ounce. Thanks!

    1. You can click and enlarge the picture above with the cream cheese and fluff and see the sizes on the labels.

  5. My mom has made this dip for years!! She does not use lemon juice – she uses the juice from a jar of cherries and then we dip the cherries! Very good stuff!

  6. Ooh yum! I don't think I've had this one before! I made a toffee cream cheese one in the past and it's always a hit. Thanks for the new idea!

  7. Ah, yes. My MIL introduced us to this and when I made it for Dudette the first time I had to take the bowl away from her because she was dunking strawberry and hand into it so she could get more dip, licking her fingers and then double dipping them. It's way good stuff.

  8. YUM! This dip could be very dangerous for me! I would probably just eat it by the spoonfuls!

  9. Oh my goodness does this dip look soooo good. I would just LOVE this! 🙂

  10. I make the same dip, but add a TBSP of Rum! You won't regreat it. Malibu Rum is good too….mmmmmmm

  11. What a great idea, Brandie. I've seen fluff here in some shops and now I know what to do with it! Oh, the days of strob picking…. and dreams of strob dipped into this dip!

  12. Mmmm… This fruit dip is addictive! I will have to make this for the strawberries I just got!

  13. Brandie! SO many fun things to do with your berries…and this dip sounds amazing! I've heard of it with vanilla, but I love the addition of lemon.

  14. The last time I had this was at a country club brunch. It was delicious with the fruit. I tend to eat fruit on it's own but sometimes it's fun to sweeten it up a bit. I need to take itty bitty strawberry picking someday.
