Cookie Monster Layered Dessert (+Video)
Cookie Monster Dessert is the ultimate four layer dessert. A layer of chocolate chip cookie topped with pudding, sweetened cream cheese and whipped topping!
CHOCOLATE “LASAGNA”
I think I must have been conditioned at a young age to want dessert right after supper. As soon as I am finished eating my meal, I immediately want something sweet. This chocolate chip cookie layered dessert fits the bill. I tested it out this weekend with my co-workers and I came home with an empty dish. They officially dubbed it the Cookie Monster dessert. I am calling this dessert a win!
LAYERS OF COOKIE DOUGH, CREAM CHEESE, CHOCOLATE PUDDING, COOL WHIP
And so what do you get when you combine some of your favorite desserts together? You get the Cookie Monster dessert. Part chocolate chip cookie, part pudding, part whipped cream and all delicious. I’m thinking this dessert is the best of all worlds. And it is a perfect ending to any meal.
INGREDIENTS NEEDED: (FULL RECIPE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE POST)
- chocolate chip cookie dough
- cream cheese
- powdered sugar
- whipped topping (COOL WHIP)
- milk
- instant chocolate pudding
- instant vanilla pudding
- mini chocolate chips
HOW TO MAKE COOKIE MONSTER LAYERED DESSERT:
Set cookie dough out on counter and let come to room temperature to soften (this will make it easier to spread into your baking dish). Preheat oven to 350F degrees. Spray 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. When dough is soft, spread into baking pan.
This takes a little patience to get it all spread out. Just get it as even as you can. Bake for about 14-16 minutes until golden brown.
Allow to cool completely. Now it’s time to start on the next layer. In a medium bowl, mix together cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
Add in 2 cups of whipped topping. Mix gently.
Once your cookie base is completely cooled, spread on cream cheese mixture.
Now it’s time to make the pudding layer. In a medium bowl, combine chocolate and vanilla puddings with cold milk.
Whisk it together until smooth. Let it set for about 2 minutes. It should be soft set but still spreadable.
Spread pudding mixture on top of cream cheese layer.
Spread remaining whipped topping on top of pudding layer.
Sprinkle with mini chocolate chips. Keep dessert covered and stored in the refrigerator until ready to eat.

I made this for our "goody day" at school. It was a hit. Everyone loved it. A nice addition to the usual cakes and cookies people bring. I followed the recipe exactly.
No that is what I call a dessert. It is funny how every family is different. We usually only have dessert on the weekends, holidays or, I guess, any stressful day. 🙂
We have had this for years at our Christmas family gathering(all 75 of us!) and have always refered to it as "Aunt Jalene's desert". It just isn't Christmas without it. Thanks for reminding me of the wonderfulness of it.
OMG! This looks delish! I too have a similar recipe that I know is wonderful so this has got to be better because of the chocolate chip cookie crust. Mmmm. Thanks for the awesome recipe. We're usually looking for something sweet after supper too.
Yes Yes Please :))
Oh my goodness, this looks and sounds like heaven!! Can't wait to try this. I'm just like you, I need something sweet after dinner. I try so hard not to give in, but in the end I do :)
This looks absolutely wonderful! Can't wait to try it! Also, it's nice to know that I'm not the only person who has the same reaction after dinner…where's my sweet treat! Plus, I too blame (haha) my mom for being an awesome cook and serving us dessert almost every night after dinner! Here's to dessert! 'Cause like it's been already commented on – life is short, eat dessert first!
Brandie – I've always known you are a woman after my heart! ;-} Our kids were raised with dessert after every meal too. MMM! LIFE IS SHORT – EAT DESSERT FIRST, right? This looks and sounds like a fantastic dessert. I make something similar, but do love your choc chip cookie crust here. Again I say…MMMM!
Thanks for another sweet tooth satisfier!

I am the same way – no waiting for dessert, need my sweets right away! This looks amazing! I love the creamy and the cookie together!
I can see why you save room for dessert! This is amazing! Geez, it might even qualify as a dinner replacement! YUM!
Oh my goodness…this will be made soon. Instead of chocolate chips on top maybe I will drizzle some chocolate syrup around and about..hmmm. This looks like another one that my granddaughter will love as much as the Oreo Pudding Poke Cake. 🙂
This looks easy and delicious! My husband can be found looking for dessert each evening…if I haven't made something he'll go for the oreos. It's nice to have a new idea to make for dessert!
