Don’t judge a dessert by its outward appearance. Seriously. This No Bake Strawberry Dessert is one of those ugly desserts. It really is. But it sure does taste good! No baking required! Only five ingredients that will only take you minutes to throw together. I get asked to bring this dessert to all those summer cookouts because it’s so light and refreshing after a hot day!

ANGEL FOOD CAKE, STRAWBERRY JELL-O, FROZEN STRAWBERRIES AND COOL WHIP

It’s also not a really heavy dessert so it’s kinda perfect after a heavy meal. Everyone loves this stuff. A lot of folks call it “The Pink Stuff.” 🙂 Whatever you call it – I know you will call it good!

One of our all time favorites. We don’t layer, though, we just put all the angel food pieces in and pour the mixture over all of it, gently stirring it in.

  2. My mom made this when I was growing up. We call it Pink Jello & she used Strawberry Banana Jello and Cool Whip. She would mix the Cool Whip in with a mixer when it was about halfway set until not too smooth, just a little lumpy. I have caarried on this tradition & it is always a big dinner hit!
Thank you for this variation…I can’t wait to try it!

Made this dessert for end to summer picnic everybody just loved it because it is not sweet but yet very refreshing even the men that Don’t like desserts went for seconds, made two pans. I cheated by adding some Cool Whip on top after it set that just give it an extra yum.. I cut into squares.
I have been asked to make it for a Baby Shower yum yum also due to mom to be loves it after tasting it at the picnic.

This recipe has been around my family for years, also. A couple of things I do differently – tear the cake into pieces (saves washing the knife), partially congeal the jello/strawberries mixture (I use the bowl for my mixer) and combine the cake with the strawberry mixture instead of layering it in the pan. I used to layer but find it easier to mix everything together then pour into the pan.

This is one of my favorite desserts of all time! My mama made this dessert when I was a wee child (many moons ago), and I make it for my family. This recipe has been handed down for four generations. The only difference was we used whipped cream before Cool Whip was in the frozen food section of the grocery. Told ya it was a long time ago! LOL! Pinned. Thanks for posting this recipe.

P.S. Just watched the mean comments video…hilarious!!!!!
