Welcome back to Weekend Potluck!
We sure do love having you here each week. Last week I had a record number of views for Weekend Potluck! It looks like lots of folks were looking for Super Bowl goodies and they were coming to check out our Weekend Potluck for ideas!
I have been in the kitchen quite a bit this week working on new recipes.
Well, there is one particular recipe I've been working on for a while now.
It's a frosting recipe.
This week, I had so much cake in my house (testing out the frosting, of course) that
I was handing out cake to friends.
And I still had so much frosting leftover, I had to just freeze it for later.
The good news?
I think I got it just right this time. Whenever I'm working on a new recipe and I have to tweak it, I gotta make it a few times just to make sure it's right.
Let me tell ya, it can be downright frustrating when you really want a recipe to work and it just doesn't seem to measure up the first 5 times you make it and make small adjustments.
And it can be even more frustrating spending money on the same ingredients over and over.
I work on a very tight budget here but sometimes a good recipe idea is too good to give up on. And I got high standards, y'all.
Now, all I have left to do is to recruit folks to help wash dishes.
My little kitchen sure has been a big ole mess this week.
Maybe what I need to do is bribe folks over to my house with cake and then put them to work first. Hee Hee. I have such sweet friends that they probably would actually do it.
God love 'em.
Anyhoo, enough of my gabbing. Let's get to the good stuff, huh?
First, we'll share the most popular recipe from last week's potluck as well as
some highlighted recipes.
