Weekend Potluck #50

It's Friday! Welcome back to Weekend Potluck!
I hope y'all have had a good week.
If not, well then, maybe you can take a few minutes to relax with us here, enjoy looking at some good food and listen to me ramble on a bit about life and stuff.
Feel free to scroll through my ramblings and head on down to the yummy food.
Don't worry, it won't hurt my feelings a bit.
It has been some week around these parts of Virginia.
This past weekend we had temperatures up in the 70's!
I kid you not.
I was wearing shorts.
Ok, not short shorts, cause no one wants to take a long look at these hamhock legs.
More like Bermuda shorts. But still, they count as shorts.
We were barbecuing and partying like it was 1999.
Good times y'all. Good times.
Here's our kitty Roscoe enjoying all the birds who were fooled into thinking it was spring.

And then yesterday, we got snow.
Huh?
So the kiddos are out of school today and that means a really long weekend for them since it's also Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King's birthday as well.
I don't think the kids will mind at all, do you?
Momma just needs to come up with some fun activities.
Maybe make snow cream?
Looks a little like the Capt. Morgan pose, no?

Anyhow, it's a good day to look over some yummy recipes and get some menu inspiration
 for this coming week.
I hope to get in the kitchen today and work on a new recipe or two as well.

So, as always, before we get started, let's take a quick peek back at last week...

Brandi, thanks for hosting each week. It has been some crazy weather, hasn't it? We didn't get the snow but we sure did get the cold! Hope you have a fun weekend playing with the kids. Snow cream sounds like a great idea!

Brandie,
Looks like you have more snow than we have in Chicagoland. We have have only had an inch, all season long. What's up with that? Today is supposed to be 40 and Monday the hIgh is supposed to be zero. Just Crazy! Enjoy the weekend with your kiddo.
